❤️ This is who Oxford Treatment Center is.

During the most severe parts of Winter Storm Fern, when conditions were hazardous and uncertainty was high, our team stayed!

Oxford staff made the decision to remain on campus, some for multiple nights, to ensure continuity of care and patient safety throughout the storm.

Meals were prepared and delivered.
Medications were carefully managed.
Debris was cleared.
Essential supplies were secured.
Patients were supported around the clock.

All while many were facing their own challenges and concerns at home.

This wasn’t about schedules or job descriptions. These incredible team members showed true commitment, compassion, and responsibility to the patients in our care and to one another.

This is why Oxford is the place people choose to recover. It's the people who make all the difference!

To our Oxford team, we say thank you for showing up when it mattered most. Your dedication made a real difference.

🇺🇸 Veterans deserve care that sees the whole person, not just the diagnosis.

At Oxford Treatment Center and across AAC facilities, we often work with Veterans who have high-acuity medical needs, needs that require hands-on, one-on-one care, 24 hours a day.

Large systems like the VA do important work. But for some Veterans, the size and structure of those systems can make individualized care difficult. When care is spread thin, personal attention can be harder to deliver.

That’s where we come in.

At Oxford, we’re able to provide dedicated, individualized support—including one-on-one nursing care—so Veterans get exactly what they need, when they need it. Not pulled in multiple directions. Not lost in the system.

And Veterans tell us the difference matters.

🎥 Watch this video to hear how individualized care can change the treatment experience for Veterans.

❤️ Follow our page to learn more about how we support Veterans in recovery and why personalized care makes all the difference.

➡️ And support doesn’t stop after treatment.
Tonight at 6:00 PM Central, we’re hosting AAC Mission Forward (link in the comments), a Veteran-focused recovery discussion designed to provide connection, tools, and community for Veterans in recovery.
This is not an AA meeting; it’s a space for Veterans to connect, share, and move forward together.

🔁 Share this to help Veterans and families know their options.

An important message to share from our own Dr. Lucas Trautman. There is hope and safety available.

While the weather has improved after Winter Storm Fern, we know the impact hasn’t disappeared for everyone here in Mississippi.

Some businesses and college campuses remain closed. Some people are still without power or water. Debris removal is ongoing. And for many, the emotional weight of all of it still lingers.

If you’re feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or just tired, you are not alone. A community of support exists at your fingertips.

For Oxford Treatment Center alumni—and all AAC alumni—the AAC Together app is ALWAYS here for you.
💛 Stay connected with people who understand
💛 Attend virtual discussions, meetings, and events
💛 Find encouragement, inspiration, and reminders every day

One local alum, who recently joined, shared that the app helped him through a time when he felt alone and stuck, reminding him just how important a support network can be, especially in moments like these.

If you’re an alum, we invite you to join us on the AAC Together app and lean into community. We’re here with you.

Dry January is wrapping up. Let’s talk about it.

Whether you completed every day, skipped a few, or decided it wasn’t for you… This isn’t about winning or failing. It’s about noticing.
💭 What was your goal?
💭 What surprised you?
💭 What felt easier—or harder—than you expected?

For some people, Dry January feels empowering.
For others, it brings up questions they didn’t expect.

And that’s the real value: What did this month reveal about your relationship with alcohol?
If you found yourself:
• Counting down the days
• Feeling anxious without a drink
• Making exceptions you didn’t plan
• Or realizing how often alcohol shows up in your routine

…it might be worth checking in with yourself.

We’ve shared a quick, confidential assessment in the comments to help you reflect on what Dry January showed you—no labels, no judgment, just information and clarity.

👇 Tell us in the comments:
What did Dry January teach you about yourself?

And if this resonates, share it with someone who might be asking the same questions.

🎖 Veterans: Help is closer than you think.

If you’re struggling with alcohol or substance use, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Veteran Philip Van Guilder, our Director of Community Affairs, explains how simple it can be to get support through the VA and how Oxford and other AAC facilities, including Laguna, Recovery First, Desert Hope, and Greenhouse Treatment Centers are all VA-approved and ready to help.

💡 Here’s the first step:
1️⃣ Walk into your local VA and identify yourself as a Veteran.
2️⃣ They’ll help access your military records and set up a counseling assessment.
3️⃣ From there, you can choose the level of care you need—inpatient, outpatient, or residential—in-network with the VA.

If you prefer a non-VA facility, mention one of our centers, and the VA can authorize care there.

You’ve served your country, now let someone serve you. Recovery is possible, and help is here. ❤️

🌐 S*x trafficking in America doesn’t look like what most people imagine.
No chains. No basements. No back‑alley whispers.

It looks like synthetic opioids, violence, and captivity at an industrial scale, and it's happening in plain sight.

In a piece published last week, our Medical Director at Oxford Treatment Center, Dr. Lucas Trautman, calls it what it really is, “Not vice. Not a crime. Asymmetric warfare.”

He writes about patients like Joy and Summer, girls whose laughter, resilience, and humanity were swallowed by a system engineered to enslave them through chemistry and fear.

And he makes a case for something few people are willing to say out loud:
👉 This isn’t just a trafficking issue.
👉 This isn’t just an addiction issue.
👉 This is a coordinated machine of captivity, and we are losing!

Dr. Trautman argues that if we want a different outcome, we must fight it like what it has become: a hostile network that uses synthetic opioids as shackles and American girls as currency.

Here’s the part most people miss:
Recovery is not just treatment. It is liberation.
Without medical detox, psychiatric care, long-term recovery, and trauma-informed support, survivors cannot break free.

🔴 Why we’re sharing this:
Because conversations like this matter.
Because the public still misunderstands trafficking and addiction.
Because policy without reality won’t save lives.
Because people in our own communities are being taken.

If you care about public health, criminal justice, mental health, recovery, trafficking, or addiction, you should read this.
