πThe City of Enterprise will open the holiday season with its annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Market on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, at the Enterprise Farmers Market.
The celebration starts at 4 p.m. with the Holiday Market, which will include more than 30 local vendors offering holiday dΓ©cor, homemade gifts, arts and crafts, jewelry, baked goods, jams and jellies, freeze-dried treats, 3D-printed items, locally grown pecans, boiled peanuts, and more. Food and drink items will also be available for purchase.
Mayor William E. Cooper said this yearβs event is a chance for families and neighbors to come together. βThis yearβs tree lighting is a great way to bring the community together and celebrate the start of the holiday season,β Cooper said. βWe hope families, friends, and neighbors will join us at the Farmers Market to enjoy music, treats, and the joy of the season while supporting local vendors.β
Birgit Briggs, Community Services Coordinator, said the market continues to highlight the talent of local creators. βOur Holiday Market is a wonderful way to support local businesses and artisans while finding unique gifts for the season,β Briggs said. βWith so many talented vendors and such a wide variety of items, thereβs something for everyone to enjoy.β
The Tree Lighting Ceremony begins at 6 p.m. and will showcase a lineup of music and community performances. The Hillcrest Elementary School Choir, under the direction of Sarah McLendon, will perform seasonal favorites, and Enterprise State Community College student Faith Walker will perform a solo. Attendees will also join in a spirited rendition of β12 Days of Christmas,β led by Marge Simmons.
Rev. Ben Bowden of First Baptist Church Enterprise will deliver a special holiday message, and Rev. Keith Ellison of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ will give the invocation. The Enterprise Queens will share a special holiday reading.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for free photos in front of the Christmas tree, and complimentary hot chocolate and cookies will be offered after the tree lighting while supplies last. Holiday shopping will remain open until 8 p.m.
This free, community-wide celebration is open to everyone. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, explore the market, and enjoy a festive evening in Enterprise.
