So... here’s a story for you. 😄
Earlier this year Cody and I got married! Surprise! 😂👏🏼✨
I know, I know - talk about sharing a secret. 😬😄 So here’s how it all went down >>
In January sometime, less than a month before my 26th birthday, we realized I was about to lose my mom’s insurance. You know, you get too old and they kick you off and make you act like an adult? Well, as the procrastinator that I am, I waited until around a month before to decide how to solve the problem at hand. 😂 With all of my medical issues, I need really good coverage, and Cody and I knew realistically that the only way to get that was to get married. 🤷🏼♀️ We had planned on getting married eventually anyway, so we figured we’d do a civil ceremony before my birthday, not tell anyone, then have a full wedding at a later date and announce everything at that point. So with a little under a month, we set out to plan the “tiniest civil ceremony ever” where I was convinced I would wear jeans to the little town hall down the street, sign a paper, and be on my merry way with my new insurance. 😂
I’m sure you can tell by my sarcasm, that’s far from how things turned out. 😄 One thing led to another (maybe one day I’ll share the deets, but I’m lazy and the story is long) and on February 1st (our 7 year anniversary) we got married in our favorite town, at the lighthouse, with our closest family and friends. And after a month or so passed, we looked back and realized that the little wedding we had was perfectly us - I’ve never been one for tradition, and I love a good spontaneous moment. So, with much happiness, we decided that our small ceremony was perfect for us and that we really didn’t want anything more. 🥰
Once a couple months passed, it felt weird bringing it up. 😂 I decided a few months ago that I was going to wait until our 1 year wedding anniversary to announce it officially (even though I know a lot of you have figured it out. You smarty pants. 😉😜), but this morning God whispered a little something in my ear - he let me know that it’s okay for my journey to change, for things to be different than originally planned, and...
