Hey Jen’s Journey followers! 👋❤️ We know it’s been a long time since we gave you an update and we figured now is the time. Regarding the hole in her heart that was found after she had the stroke; they were able to successfully perform a PFO closure and seal it. It took them two tries, but they got it done. Also, the H. Pylori that was found in her stomach is completely cured thanks to the antibiotics and she is slowly but surely getting back to eating again. Now, onto the next topic. Back in November, Jen had a PET scan done that appeared to show that the chemo and radiation had cured the cancer. But, after a repeat PET scan and a follow-up with her ENT, we received the news that it is not entirely gone. She still has small fragments of cancer left over from the tumor on her tonsil and in her lymph node. Her oncologist referred her to an ENT at UK who specializes in surgical treatment for head and neck cancers. With that being said, she is scheduled for an all-day procedure to remove the fragments from her tonsil and lymph node tomorrow. We will be traveling to Lexington and spending the day there and we will try our best to give updates as we receive them from her care team. This is a very extensive procedure with a very long recovery to follow. We want to thank all of you for your continued love, prayers and support. You have no idea what it means to us when one of us gets a message or we get stopped while we’re out and about and someone asks us how she’s doing. Please keep her and us in your thoughts and prayers today, tomorrow and for the days to come. Again, thank you all so much, we love you all dearly! ❤️
