We are excited to be returning to an in-person venue this year! This year’s convention will be held over the course of three days. On Thursday, we will offer a full day of focused educational sessions. On Friday and Saturday, we will have full days of educational sessions and poster sessions focusing on this year's theme and improving counselor training, professional development and identity, and client care.

Attendees are eligible to earn up to 6 Continuing Education (CE) hours on Thursday during the Pre-Convention Session, and up to 14 CE hours during the Convention on Friday and Saturday. “Before I found the Inner Truth Project, I felt like I was carrying the weight of the world alone. My blood pressure readings were elevated and I constantly found myself eating poorly due to stress and fear. Through the Survivor Health Impact Pathways Program, I’ve learned to breathe again, to trust myself, and to believe in my future. I have new tools to manage my stress and I’m so grateful for the time I spent in the program.”

The SHIP program provides survivors with not only counseling, support groups, and wellness resources that honor their individual journey but also access to better overall heath. With partial funding from unitedwaystlucieokee and United Way of Martin County we are able to walk alongside survivors every step of the way—helping them move from surviving to thriving.

Together, we are rewriting stories of resilience, courage, and healing.

Professional Interests

My professional interests include working with adolescents and adults on various concerns and life difficulties. Of interest to me are identity development, sexuality, gender, trauma, sexual offending, and addictions. The most important aspect for me is to make a connection with others and build a strong alliance in order to work together towards a more fulfilling future. My research focuses on the areas of gender non-conformity, sexual culture, and supervision.

Approach to Therapy

I consider my approach to Cognitive Behavioral with a Humanistic flare. My techniques are primarily Mindful-based CBT; however, I tend to be client led and less directive. In addition, meaning making and exploration of schemas and belief systems can be a primary area of importance.
