Resident Vera Mullins recently celebrated her centenarian birthday. 🎉

It is a remarkable milestone that we were fortunate enough to celebrate at The Gables.

She enjoyed a full day of parties, well wishes, and ended with dinner with family and friends that came from afar to be with her.

The Gables of Palm Harbor partnered with a local organization, Senior Helpers, to bring the Virtual Dementia Bus to the community.

Many of our care associates participated in the event to learn how to be an even better caregiver to the residents living with dementia by walking in their shoes. The team explained the disease process and simulated what life is like through the lens of those with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia.

The day was filled with trivia, culture, and delicious Brazilian-inspired dishes - citrus-marinated chicken with chimichurri, and black beans with rice.

Our Life Enrichment Assistant Charlotte lead a fun parachute activity with residents today.

They all enjoyed the movement to the rhythm of the Beach Boys music, which was a great enhancement for physical health and increase social interaction.
