The Riverside County Board of Supervisors has announced the appointment of Jonathan Hoy to the Mount San Jacinto Winter Park Authority, governing body of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.

Born and raised in the Coachella Valley, Hoy is a professional civil engineer with over 30 years of experience working in both the private and public sectors. He currently serves as the Director of Transportation for the Coachella Valley Association of Governments. As a former Assistant City Manager/City Engineer for the City of Coachella and Public Works Director/City Engineer for the City of Desert Hot Springs, Hoy has established strong partnerships with federal, state, county, municipal, and tribal councils. “I look forward to serving the Mount San Jacinto Winter Park Authority to my best ability.”

According to Tramway General Manager Nancy Nichols, “I am delighted with the appointment of Mr. Hoy to the Authority. His governmental background will add a valuable perspective to our board.”

The other Authority Members are Brian Conley, Sandra Magana-Cuellar and Jeff Ohlfs, appointed by the Governor; Bary Freet, appointed by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors; and Jerry Ogburn and Nancy Stuart, appointed by the Palm Springs City Council.

Tucker for Judge has my vote!!! I am honored to be running for Riverside County Superior Court Judge as this has always been my childhood dream. Perhaps it was being the middle child in my family, I could always see both sides to any issue and often served as the go between. My dream was almost achieved in 2018 when I was personally selected from over 100 applicants by the Judges of Riverside County to be a Superior Court Commissioner. I continue to be chosen by my fellow judiciary as my candidacy is endorsed by the majority of Riverside County Judicial Officers including the Presiding Judge, Assistant Presiding Judge, and Past Presiding Judges of Riverside County.

EXPERIENCED
Even for the most qualified individuals, it takes time to learn how to be a Judge. I have been doing the job of a Superior Court Commissioner for over 5 years. There are many different areas of law, in addition to criminal, that a Judge needs to know. I have presided over criminal AND civil, probate, juvenile dependency, juvenile justice, mental health proceedings, restraining orders and traffic.

QUALIFIED
As a Riverside County Deputy District Attorney for over 23 years, I am not a stranger to courtroom proceedings. I have extensive jury trial experience prosecuting serious and violent felonies, domestic violence, child abuse cases and much more.
I have completed all of the required judicial training needed to be a Judge. Electing me will save tax payer dollars as I am the only candidate that will not need to be formally educated and trained.

Every day I preside over a courtroom wearing a neutral black robe, confirming my commitment that everyone should have equal access to justice in Riverside County.

Last night I had the pleasure of meeting Andres Chavez at the City of Coachella‘s Chavez Day event.
During my tenure, working for the City of Coachella, I had the opportunity to work on a number of projects that recognized and honored Cesar Chavez. These included the Cesar Chavez Memorial on Avenue 50 and the Coachella Veterans Memorial Park. Although he is universally recognized as a labor leader and a civil rights activist, many are surprised to find out that he was a US Navy Veteran. The USNS Cesar Chavez was the first US military ship named after a Latino.
