Transportation to medical care is not a small thing. In our community, there are several transportation providers doing this work.

Behind every one of us is a family and a business owner praying the phones keep ringing so they can provide for their household.

It is my belief that we are NOT in competition with one another. We are in service together.

I believe that when you choose any of us, you are supporting a local family and that one ride booked with one company does not 'take away' from another.

At the end of the day, what matters most is that you get to your appointments safely and on time. However that happens, that is a win for all of us.

Here is a list of all the transportation companies in addition to Reliable Care Rides.

If you are the owner of any of these companies please reach out to me as I would love to get connected. We can serve this community more effectively together and advocate for one another when dealing with the complexities of the state.

Thank you.

Two Years of Reliable Care Rides 💛

It has been an honor to serve the Mat-Su community and provide dependable transportation for local residents. However, we are also seeing firsthand that the demand for these services exceeds what we are currently able to provide.

While that affirms we are serving a meaningful purpose, it also means there are times when our capacity is full. Saying no is never easy. Turning away someone who needs a ride to care is the most difficult part of what we do.

Reliable Care Rides has always been capacity-driven, not fare-driven. We do not overschedule, overpromise, or compromise safety just to increase revenue. If we cannot provide the level of reliability and care our riders deserve, we won’t book the ride.

To our riders, families, and healthcare partners... thank you for your patience, your trust, and your support over these past two years. You are the reason we continue pushing forward.

Here’s to year three. 🚗

UPDATE 4:00 pm 12/7: We are very grateful for the public's generosity. We are unable to accept donations at the shelter at this time. After a disaster, people are incredibly generous and often ask how to help. Financial donations are the quickest and best way to support people impacted by disasters. Donations of clothing and household items divert resources away from our mission, whereas financial donations can be directed to those in need more quickly.

UPDATE 11:00 am 12/7: The shelter location has moved to the Menard Sports Center (1001 S Clapp St, Wasilla, AK 99654).

Anyone affected by the power outage and windstorm is welcome to stop by for a warm place to stay, snacks, to charge their phone, and get other support.

Anyone impacted who needs assistance can call 1-800-RED CROSS. For power outage safety information, visit https://rdcrss.org/4iQOwvW or download the Red Cross Emergency App.

The Alaska Department of Health has partnered with a select number of clinics across the state to bring the Alaska 360 Healthy Living program to our communities.

This program is designed to help prevent diabetes and support lasting weight loss.

Here’s the part many people don’t realize: If you’re on Medicaid, you may be eligible to have your transportation covered for these appointments.

Talk with your provider today to discuss eligibility, and when you’re ready, call us to schedule your ride.

Visit Alaska’s Fresh Start campaign website to explore more programs to meet other health goals. These goals include managing blood pressure and stopping smoking, va**ng, or chewing to***co.

Caring for a loved one is already a full-time job. Add in the worry of getting them safely to appointments, and it can feel overwhelming. That’s where Non-Emergency Medical Transportation makes all the difference.

Peace of mind isn’t a luxury. It’s something every family deserves.

It’s been a while since we’ve posted! One of the unique parts of being in the NEMT (Non-Emergency Medical Transportation) business is that we can’t share personal details about the amazing people we serve. Protecting their privacy matters, and we take it seriously.

That said, here’s a quick update for anyone checking us out:

Reliable Care Rides is a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation company operating in Wasilla. We are an approved Alaska Medicaid provider, which means we accept Medicaid Travel Vouchers to help get you to and from your medically necessary appointments.

Ride slots fill quickly, so please call to reserve your spot.

We're excited to introduce Reliable Care Rides - a new non-emergency medical transportation and companion service providing rides for ambulatory and semi-ambulatory residents in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley. After years as caregivers, we witnessed firsthand how transportation posed an obstacle to healthcare access. Every missed ride was a missed chance for wellness and independence. We intend to fill this gap and promote health access for the Matanuska-Susitna Community. Rides must be authorized and scheduled by a medical provider.

As a healthcare transportation service, we aim to:

★ Ensure patients can access crucial care by eliminating transportation barriers

★ Safely transport patients using mobility equipment like walkers, canes, and folding wheelchairs

★ Help community members maintain their independence so they can fully participate in the activities they find meaningful in their everyday lives

Reliable 'patient-focused' transportation is essential for health equity. Unlike local taxi companies, Reliable Care Rides throws 'fare-focused' out the window. Our top priorities are reliable, accessible rides and treating all our riders like family.

We're proud to meet this essential need in the Mat-Su community.
