Health isn’t random.
It’s predictable when function improves.

Your body isn’t chaotic.

When the nervous system communicates clearly…
when joints move properly…
when muscles fire the way they should…

The body does what it was designed to do.

It heals.
It adapts.
It gets stronger.

Most healthcare today waits for symptoms.

But symptoms are late signals.

At our office we measure function first — because when function improves, health tends to follow.

That’s not random.

That’s biology working the way it was designed.

Do patients who see chiropractors end up getting opioids less often?

What This Study Looked At
Researchers analyzed existing studies to determine whether patients who used chiropractic care were more or less likely to receive opioid prescriptions.

They searched multiple major databases and ultimately included six controlled cohort studies involving over 62,000 patients with spinal pain.

What They Found
Across every study included, the same pattern appeared:

Patients who received chiropractic care were less likely to receive opioids.

Here are a few key data points.

1️⃣ 64% lower odds of opioid prescriptions

When the researchers combined the data from all studies, they found:

Patients who saw chiropractors had a 64% lower chance of receiving an opioid prescription.

That’s a massive difference.

2️⃣ Lower opioid use in every study

In every individual study reviewed, opioid prescriptions were higher in patients who did NOT use chiropractic care.

Different populations.

Different datasets.

Same direction every time.

3️⃣ Chiropractic often used early

Several studies showed the biggest impact when chiropractors were the first provider seen for low back pain.

Which makes sense.

When patients start with a non-pharmacologic approach, they’re far less likely to end up on medication pathways.

This review demonstrated an inverse association between chiropractic use and opioid receipt among patients with spinal pain. Further research is warranted to assess this association and the implications it may have for case management strategies to decrease opioid use.

Your nervous system controls every function in your body.

Your brain communicates with your muscles, organs, and tissues through the nervous system, and your spine protects that system.

When the spine isn’t moving properly, it can affect how the body functions.

Chiropractic care focuses on helping restore proper movement in the spine so the nervous system can function the way it was designed to.

Take care of the system that runs your life.

Many viral chiropractic videos online show techniques like the Y-strap or “ring dinger,” where the entire neck or spine is pulled at once.

While those videos can be entertaining to watch, chiropractic care works best when the adjustment is specific.

Your spine is made of 24 moving vertebrae, and each one connects to nerves that influence different parts of the body. When one joint is not moving correctly, it can affect how the nervous system communicates with muscles, joints, and organs.

That’s why chiropractic adjustments should focus on restoring motion to the exact joint that isn’t functioning properly.

When the adjustment is specific, the results are specific.

This approach focuses on precision, biomechanics, and nervous system function rather than applying force to the entire spine at once.

If you're experiencing:

• Neck pain
• Back pain
• Headaches
• Joint stiffness
• Limited mobility

A precise chiropractic evaluation may help identify the true source of the problem.

Most healthcare focuses on symptoms.

Where does it hurt?
How bad does it hurt?

But symptoms are only signals.

At Pro Active Chiropractic Center, we focus on something deeper — function.

When the spine isn’t moving correctly and the nervous system isn’t communicating properly with the body, pain and dysfunction often follow.

Instead of chasing symptoms, we measure how the body is functioning and work to restore normal movement and nervous system balance.

When function improves, symptoms often improve as well.

If you're looking for a natural, drug-free approach to improving how your body works, chiropractic care may help.

Many people today feel like they are constantly stressed, tense, or anxious.

This may happen because the body becomes stuck in fight-or-flight mode.

The nervous system has two major states:

• Fight-or-Flight (stress response)
• Rest-and-Repair (recovery mode)

When the body stays stuck in stress mode too long, it can contribute to fatigue, headaches, poor sleep, muscle tension, and anxiety.

The spine and nervous system play an important role in helping the body regulate these responses.

Chiropractic care helps support healthy nervous system function and communication between the brain and body.

If you feel like your body is always in stress mode, there may be a physical component involved.

Most people think stress only affects the mind, but stress actually lives in the nervous system.

Your brain and spinal cord control how your body responds to stress. When your body stays stuck in fight-or-flight mode, it can lead to headaches, muscle tension, fatigue, and poor sleep.

Chiropractic care helps support healthy nervous system function so your body can better adapt to stress.

If you’ve been dealing with constant tension or stress, there may be a physical component involved.
