From childhood dreams of space travel to exploring the frontiers of AI, Software Engineer Alex Fu is helping shape the future of Houzz Pro. His latest project? Symbol recognition in Takeoffs, an AI-powered feature that transforms a once time-consuming step into a task completed in seconds.

What excites Alex the most? The chance to solve problems that don’t yet have answers, and to see his work make a difference. “I’ve always wanted to be a critical piece of the puzzle. At Houzz, I feel like I’m achieving that by contributing to projects that make a real impact for our community, the company and the industry at large.”

As a senior software engineer for Houzz, Aayush works with his team in Nepal and Houzzers in Tel Aviv to create technology-based solutions to address our users’ needs – and surpass their expectations. What's one of his favorite things about Houzz? "[The] feedback loop that we have with our customers and how we integrate it into our software development. Instead of only implementing ideas from product managers and testing them with users, we use customer feedback to help build the product itself. We care about ensuring that this isn't just a job or a placeholder role, but it can turn into a long-term career.
