Have you ever considered your breathing? Like literally how you breathe 🌬 Probably not, right? I mean breathing is this automatic thing that we just do…
But what if I told you that the way you breathe could be negatively impacting how you feel?
There's different types of breathers?!? 🤯 Yep! And if you fit into one of these descriptions you'll want to practice conscious breathing for sure.
The Chest Breather: you use your chest, neck, and shoulders to expand your lungs on each breath instead of your diaphragm.
🚨Problems that can occur: Chronic neck and shoulder pain, headaches, and poor posture
The Breath Holder: you might not even notice that you do this, but you tend to stop breathing for moments throughout the day. It often happens when you're anticipating something, you're stressed or anxious, or you’re frustrated.
🚨Problems that can occur: tingling sensations in your limbs, abnormal heart rate, feeling faint
The Shallow Breather: you take frequent shortened breaths, typically way more each minute than the average person does.
