It won’t happen how you think it “should.”

Each minute is a part of the larger process. Each minute gives you new information about yourself. Each breath is an opportunity.

Stay present.

No, you are not crazy.
No, you are not the only one in the world feeling this.
Yes, it will pass.

Whether you believe in the influence of the moon or not, now is a time to take good care of yourself.

You may notice difficult emotions surfacing or find yourself in very trying circumstances. If you’re not in a space to do some deeper work on yourself, then pull out your coping skills and ride out the storm.

🫠 Hang in there!

🏃‍♂️ Move a muscle, change a thought 🧘

This saying holds a lot of merit when it comes to anxiety, stress and trauma therapy.

There are times when thinking your way through a triggering situation DOESN'T work. This isn't from lack of trying or inadequacy in any way on your part...it's just harder to use parts of your 🧠 when they have been worn down by the stress in your life.

For those of you with trauma, thinking your way through anxiety and panic symptoms can be even more challenging 🤯

So What Do You Do About It??? Well you start by reading my newest blog 🤓

💚SAVE THIS AS A REMINDER

I know it’s hot 🥵 here in Florida, but the health benefits of being outside, exploring in nature are vastly overlooked and underrated (with proper sun protection and hydration of course 😉).

I could write A TON about this, but I’m going to empower you to do some research 🧐

Let it go!
Give yourself a pass!
Release unnecessary tension!

You don’t have to be perfect today.
You don’t have to be completely put together and have everything in top top shape.

This is your sign to take a breather ✨ ✨

Hold off on heading to the pharmacy!!

Take a stroll to your garden or grocery store instead. 🌱

When we’re talking about depression, anxiety, PTSD, panic disorders and other anxiety-related disorders, we’re also talking about the effects of chronic stress.

Stress depletes your brain of the neurotransmitters needed to calm your nervous system 🤯 This is often where medications like SSRIs and Benzodiazepines come into play.

Now, I’m not saying pharmaceutical medications can’t help you because they absolutely can…but there are also nutritional interventions that can support the production of neurotransmitters as well to help you heal from the effects of chronic stress.

Stop trying to resist your thoughts!

So many struggle with meditation and tend to give up when they can't seem to "shut off" their thoughts. Step away from that idea for a second and instead try this out!

Trying to stop your thoughts actually puts more focus and energy on them. The more your resist - the longer you struggle.

Sit comfortably and begin by noticing the thought that comes through. Acknowledge it without giving it much meaning. Then invite the next one. You might say to yourself "that was an interesting thought, I wonder what I'll think of next."

When you try to stop the flow of thoughts, you get bombarded with more and more. It's frustrating and overwhelming! But when you observe the flow and let it be as it is, you'll notice that it slows wayyy down. If you sit long enough, your mind will slow down and become quieter.

Get rid of the mental clutter!! 🤯

There is something really satisfying about decluttering your home. Creating space can provide such a sense of relief and gives you room to breathe.

Imagine if you could also practice decluttering in your mind…

✨You can with this exercise!

The Forward Fold Pose is a great one for those with anxiety and stress - anyone that’s stuck in a state of hyper-arousal.

Combining it with the visualization of dumping out all the junk is particularly effective for those flooded with worry, obsessive thoughts, and struggles with insomnia.

✨Use this exercise to get yourself back in the present moment!

Here are a couple modifications to consider:
🚨 If you are someone that has lower back problems, you’ll want to keep your knees bent while folded forward.
🚨 If you’re someone with high blood pressure or severe depression, you’ll want to do this pose sitting in a chair.

❤️ This is a keeper! Save this post to refer back to.

Have you ever considered your breathing? Like literally how you breathe 🌬 Probably not, right? I mean breathing is this automatic thing that we just do…

But what if I told you that the way you breathe could be negatively impacting how you feel?

There's different types of breathers?!? 🤯 Yep! And if you fit into one of these descriptions you'll want to practice conscious breathing for sure.

The Chest Breather: you use your chest, neck, and shoulders to expand your lungs on each breath instead of your diaphragm.

🚨Problems that can occur: Chronic neck and shoulder pain, headaches, and poor posture

The Breath Holder: you might not even notice that you do this, but you tend to stop breathing for moments throughout the day. It often happens when you're anticipating something, you're stressed or anxious, or you’re frustrated.

🚨Problems that can occur: tingling sensations in your limbs, abnormal heart rate, feeling faint

The Shallow Breather: you take frequent shortened breaths, typically way more each minute than the average person does.

🚨Problems that can occur: anxiety issues and respiratory problems

TRY THIS OUT 👇🏼👇🏼
Pay attention to your breathing today. Take breaks to practice conscious breathing.
