Today, in the hustle and bustle of preparing for a local event I drove passed a homeless woman two different times with earphones on; dancing as she walked down the road. 💖 I had to just pause and take her energy in. It was pretty stinking freezing at the time, yet she did not appear to be feeling that bite. Who knows what her life circumstances were, but one thing is for sure. She was DICTATING her experience through her OUTLOOK. It didn’t matter she had no home and it did matter about the weather. All that mattered to her was the music thumping in her earphones. What an inspiration. It sure inspired me. ✨One of my most used quotes, she said as living out. “Our experience is dictated by our outlook.” You guys, we create the reality in which we live. 🙌 Make it a good one! You hold the power in choice to do so. 💪

Peace is coming for our world as we move more out of the astrological age of Pisces that has been driven by ego and governed with fear and into the age of Aquarius that is driven by harmony and governed by LOVE. 💖✨🕊️ What a wonderful time to be alive. A time where each one of us has the opportunity to “BE the change” we want to see in the world. How do we as individuals bring about world peace? By cultivating and finding peace within. When we each discover how to bring peace to the battlefield of our own minds - we in turn cultivate peace around us that ripples throughout the world. ✌️

My name is Joy Howell and I am a local intuitive, trauma informed, Reiki Practitioner and Life Coach. I’d love to work with you on a personal level. 🥰💖✨ Be it through one on one life coaching sessions or through Reiki where I have a gifting to clear energy blockages that are keeping you entangled in low level frequencies. I am here for you. 🙏

In Thailand, a heartwarming initiative saw 5,000 schools participate in a powerful meditation for world peace, involving over 1 million children. The scene was nothing short of spectacular, as thousands of children gathered in peaceful unison, meditating for a collective cause. This beautiful display of solidarity highlights the importance of teaching the next generation about mindfulness, compassion, and the power of peaceful action. These children, who will grow up to be the leaders of tomorrow, are already taking part in shaping a world grounded in tranquility.

This meditation is not just about sitting in silence; it’s about instilling values of unity, respect, and compassion. Through these simple yet profound acts, these young individuals are learning that their thoughts and actions can have a ripple effect on the world around them. It’s a reminder that the future of peace doesn’t start with political leaders or global summits; it begins with the hearts and minds of our children. By fostering this mindset early on, Thailand is nurturing a generation ready to tackle the world’s challenges with empathy and understanding.

What makes this initiative so inspiring is that it involves such a vast number of children. One million children participating in such a grand meditation for peace sends a message to the world about the power of collective action. It demonstrates that when communities come together, no matter their size, they can create a positive impact. The event wasn’t just a one-time gathering; it reflects a growing trend of educational programs centered around mindfulness, mental well-being, and the importance of global harmony.

The children’s participation also shows how nations can use education to promote peace. By incorporating meditation into the school curriculum, Thailand is equipping its youth with the tools they need to navigate the complexities of the world. Meditation isn’t just a mental exercise; it’s an important part of developing emotional intelligence and resilience. With these skills, children are empowered to handle the stresses of life while promoting peace in their communities.

Furthermore, this event serves as an example of how large-scale events can be used for good. In an age where the world seems divided, this display of unity among so many children is a beautiful reminder that we all share the same hopes for peace. Such initiatives can inspire other nations to adopt similar programs and spread the message of global harmony. If one country can mobilize so many young minds for peace, there is no limit to the impact that can be made across the globe.

In a world that sometimes feels overwhelmed by conflict and division, moments like these show that hope is alive and well. It’s proof that peace is not just an ideal but something that can be achieved with the right education and collective will. By continuing to engage children in activities like this, Thailand is not only teaching them about meditation but also instilling the values needed to create a peaceful world. 🌍🧘‍♂️

When Mindlessness & Observation Meet

In my last post we discussed how to ground using “mindlessness”. Today, I would like to expand.

Quick catch up: mindlessness is entering into nothingness. Just “being” and it’s an important life skill to develop. When you have this discipline in place and life offers up a very hard moment that you don’t feel you can handle, mindlessness can ground you. It can calm your heart so that your mind can find rationality and it can set your feet on some solid ground. Find my last post for more!

Let’s go deeper into what mindlessness actually is. We are spiritual (or celestial) beings having a human experience. This makes us two things in one. Our spiritual self is often referred to as our higher self. It’s the eternal part of us. When this body dies we will return to our spiritual self. It is our home. It is the part of us that has always been and will always be. Though we are having a human experience and our life is consumed with this world, we still are connected to our higher self and all the wisdom and knowledge it holds.

Our intuition is nothing more than tapping into our higher self’s wisdom and direction. Our higher self is with us in this world and it’s with us on “the other side” in the spiritual realms. There is no time on the other side. The past, present, and future all exist at once. Therefore, our higher self has access to wisdom from our past, present, and future.

When we go into mindlessness we are actually going into our higher self. We are silencing this present world and returning to ourselves. The real us. The true us. This is why mindlessness is so powerful and calming.

We want change in our lives and yet change is so difficult to implement. Habits are hard to break. The brain gets wired for one thing and it does not like to switch gears and learn a new way. The battlefield really is in the mind and going into mindlessness to address change is highly effective!

When we come to an understanding that everything is energy and that energy can be regulated, transmuted, and controlled by us… we can move mountains. Thoughts are energy. Words are energy. Emotions are energy. Negative energy is raw energy and raw energy can be refined into positive energy. Just like soil takes in decaying carcasses and turns them over into vital nutrients - we can take any negative energy and turn it over into positive energy. We can take bad and turn it into good. Our higher self has that power. 💪 ✨

Scientists have found that when we observe energy it changes energy. Just like we act differently when we notice we are being observed, so does any and every form of energy! Mindlessness gives us the power and opportunity to transmute energy.

Let me ask you to think about something you are “working on” or “trying to change” in your life right now. You want it so badly but it seems there is so much work to be done to obtain it. Day after day we strive to reach it and bring it into our daily practice. Mindlessness and observation is a more productive way to obtain these changes.

Here is how it works:
Instead of looking at what you want with desire and frustration, go into mindlessness. Empty the desires and frustration and enter into nothingness. Observe what you want changed. How does it feel in your body? How does it feel in your emotions? How does it feel being present in your life? Sit and observe it.

Now, what kind of change do you want to see? How do you want it to be different? Put yourself in that new reality. How would it feel in your body if you were already living in the change? How would your emotions feel it? How would your life feel if that was already implemented into your life? Now, sit and observe that.

What if I told you making habitual life changes could be done in an instant? It is a possibility and it all comes down to choosing which energy we put our focus on. The energy of what we hold that we don’t want or the energy of what we don’t have and want. Where we put our focus determines what we get. If we place our focus on the “working on” or “trying to” or even just the behavior we are used to that we don’t want… we are nurturing THAT, watering THAT, and cultivating THAT into our lives. However, if we take our focus off of it and turn the focus onto what we want to be in its place… THAT is what we nurture, water, and cultivate into our lives. This is transmuting energy. Refining negative energy in our lifestyle into positive energy.

Every moment of every day we are making decisions on what we will focus on and grow, unknowingly. We have the power to bring self awareness into our every day moments. Self awareness says, “Hey! Here is an area ready for us to transmute!” The more we respond and engage our self awareness the more it will work with us and the more we can cultivate a life of healing and peace. What we cultivate within translates to everything and everyone outside of us and impacts them.

We all want peace in our world. We want an end to division, conflict, and war. What if I told you the solution to that problem is by each one of us ending the division, conflict, and war that is within? The battlefield is in each and every one of us and when we calm it and bring peace to it we inadvertently do the same to the world around us.

Now, are you ready to put the cherry on top!?!? 😇❤️✨ We don’t have to wait for the opportunity of self awareness to do this work. We can set an intention each and every day to transmute our negative energy into positive. Let’s stop “working on” and “trying”. Those words in themselves hold energy that entangles us within the working on and trying and keeps us working and trying. This is the long and drawn out path to change. The shorter, much more rewarding path is intentionally going into mindlessness daily, consistently, observing the old and admit it’s not working and transmuting it by placing ourselves in the new we want as if it already exists. Spending a great deal of time experiencing it, feeling it, and observing how good it feels in as much detail as possible. Then, come out of mindlessness and feeling it in each step. Feel it with eyes open. Feel it as you move through your day. It’s okay if you loose it. Being gentle with ourselves in these moments and returning to mindlessness to begin again is simply a bicep curl to make us stronger to hold it longer next time. Each bicep curl builds upon the last and THIS is what will make it possible to get to a point where we are able to transmute energy in an instant. ✨💪✨

Bicep curls are a GOOD thing. Remember that and remember gentleness. That combination will change “I’m working on” and “I’m trying” into “I AM!!!” As a matter of fact, let’s change our vocabulary. When we catch ourself saying “I’m working on it” and “I’m trying” let’s flip them into “I AM!!” And live WITHIN the change we want to implement. 🌿✨

Grounding in Mindlessness

Mindlessness is an incredible grounding technique. So much so, I recommend spending time in mindlessness each and every day, increasing the time spent in it continually. With a desire to master it. For within mindlessness is emotional and energy regulation. When life gets too intense, when emotions rage, mindlessness saves you from irrationality, fear, and chaos. It keeps you in the present moment and reconnects you to your higher self and to your spiritual team. Mindlessness puts you in the presence of God, the Source of all things.

How do you develop mindlessness? Through daily practice, patience, and gentleness. I had what is called a monkey mind. A mind that was always searching for danger. A mind on rapid fire over every single thing that was happening around me. It never stopped. It raced morning, day, and night. When I was able to embrace and develop mindlessness my life’s experience began to change for the better. My overactive mind made my life and my struggles much harder than they needed to be. Today, I can be in a moment of panic and rerun myself to mindlessness and alter my reality in an instant. Mindlessness is a very important life skill.

Here is how I adapted this skill into my daily life:

Every morning, upon waking, go into mindlessness. No thinking about the problems of yesterday or what’s going to happen today or tomorrow. Just silence and the darkness of eyes closed. Take in the moment of just “being”. Take a deep inhale and exhale and say, “I am” and just be with no thoughts. When a thought comes, and it will, gently brush it away. I verbally do a gentle, “shhhhhhh.” Understand, thoughts that come are not bad - they are useful to help you develop deeper mindlessness skills. Each time you successfully brush aside a thought you have done a bicep curl to make your mind stronger at this discipline. With this knowledge you can be gentle with yourself when thoughts come.

Spend as little or as much time going into mindlessness each day. The key is to just do it consistently. Doing it for one minute is a huge accomplishment. Consistency is what builds it and makes it more and more predominant in your life. In time you will begin to see its benefits and that will drive you into spending more time within mindlessness. There will come a time where it will be one of your most favorite places to go. You find it will strengthen the foundation you stand on in every day life. It will strengthen your rational mind. It will bring you peace and wisdom.

Once you develop mindlessness upon waking for a minute or two you can then begin to increase your time within it. Maybe begin a meditation routine before you begin your day. You could set an alarm and go into mindlessness three times a day, every hour, whatever feels right and good for you. Practicing it before sleep could significantly help with sleeping issues.

Out of all the grounding techniques, mindlessness is by far my favorite. ✨

Grounding For Driving Anxieties

First, let’s talk about the “why” behind driving anxieties. If you have driving anxieties you are familiar with other anxieties too. This is just one that is added to a list of them.

Anxieties send our nervous system into fight or flight. One thing that occurs during this process is “disassociation”. The mind has gone into “reptile mode” which means it has shut down to a minimum to conserve energy to a fight or a flight/run. With this brain shut down all the attention is taken off of extremities and the brain/body focus is purely on the functioning of the vital organs. The brain is not concerned about keeping the body and soul together because it is only concerned and focused on the functioning of the vital organs. It cannot reason, remember, be rational… it is honed into the vital organs with intensity. This is why we can feel as if we are coming “out of ourselves” or “floaty”. The body and soul separation or disassociation.

When someone who lives with anxiety gets behind the wheel of a vehicle and has to drive in uncomfortable conditions (be it the road, the weather, or just what is going on in their life) disassociation can come on in a nanosecond! With the body and soul separation and the sensory system at a heightened state driving a car can feel terrifying. The sensory system feels every sway produced by wind or turns to an extreme degree. If there is a fear of heights, another layer of compounding on mountain roads and bridges.

You know how the mouse pointer on a computer screen drags sometimes, creating a trail of the mouse? This is what it feels like for a person that is in disassociation while driving. The physical body is inline with the car but the separated soul is floaty and it sways away from the body with each turn and a dropping/falling sensation and gasp over heights. With a brain that refuses to help with problem solving because it is fixated on the vital organs a person has to endure with no help or relief. It’s really a horrible experience to be behind a wheel in this condition.

So, what to do? There are times we have no choice but to drive. Here is how I found relief from these issues personally:

*It starts outside of driving. It starts by turning into problem solving the anxiety issue in itself. There are two skills absolutely necessary to kick anxiety’s ass.

1. Breathwork.

A stimulus happens and the heart begins to race. The mind sees the heart racing and says, “OMG something is wrong!!!!!” Then the mind goes into reptile mode, takes its attention off of everything in the body, refuses to help problem solve, and turns all its attention to just the functioning of the vital organs. It’s saving energy for that incredible strength one has in a fight for their life or run for their life.

“The mind follows the heart, the body follows the mind.”

🔑 Calming the heart calms the mind which calms the body. How do you calm the heart? The only way to calm the heart is with the breath. Peace, literally lives in our lungs.

How do you do breath work? Put one hand on your chest and the other on your belly. Breathe in steady and slow making sure you fill your belly first and then your chest. Feel this with your hands. You can pause between inhales/exhales, which helps calm the nervous system. If you struggle with breath work, it may be due to too much carbon dioxide in your lungs from shallow breathing prior to this exercise. Easy fix: on the exhale, exhale till there is nothing left in the lungs. Empty the carbon dioxide out.

2. Mindlessness.
Once the mind has an “OH SH*T!!!” moment by seeing the heart race and a thought fear loop begins, it’s is very difficult to get it to let go of that fear and disengage the loop. Understand, everything the mind is thinking is done from a brain that is only focused on the vital organs. Thoughts in this space, based off of the fear they are drowning in, are completely irrational. The best solution is to completely halt thinking until the brain is back at full functioning capacity.

It is impossible to learn mindlessness “in the moment”. Mindlessness must be practiced prior to, so that, you can just fall into it when a moment arrives that it’s needed.

What is mindlessness? It is going into a state where there is no thoughts. You can do this by closing your eyes and going into complete darkness or into nature through imagination with any scenery that brings you peace. Set a timer for 1 min and work yourself up to 5 minutes with lots of gentleness and grace.

Has this helped you or do you know someone who would benefit from this information? Please like and share. 🥰 It will help others find this and be such an encouragement to me personally.

Grounding during anxiety or panic attacks can be tricky at times. The brain goes into “reptile mode” making it hard to think and the body’s sensory system can be so overactive that it can’t stand a lot of things. In this case it is good to use several grounding techniques back to back.

If you deal with anxieties or panic on a regular basis, I recommend educating those closest to you about these grounding techniques and ask them to remember them or save them. It is difficult to remember grounding when the brain is in reptile mode.

Here are my go toes:

*Breathe. Put one hand on chest and one on belly. Make the belly rise THEN the chest. This allows energy to flow better. Pausing between the exhales and inhales jolts the nervous system. Exhaling completely prevents carbon dioxide build-up from shallow breathing which increase anxiety. Take your attention to how the air feels going in and out of the nose. (I don’t recommend exhaling through the mouth because the brain can see this as running from danger - the key here is to calm the brain.)

- The first one I recommend turning to is ice, cold water, or cold air (outside or freezer). This gives the nervous system a nice slap saying, “Hey! Listen to me please!” Put your hands in it and/or rub it on your neck/face.

- The one I recommend to follow 👆 is to take your attention to your feet and butt (if sitting) and feel the surface beneath them. Then use any of the 👇 in any order.

- 3-3-3 Exercise: Name 3 things you hear, 3 things you see, move 3 parts of your body.

- Animal alphabet: start with “A” and think of an animal that begins with “A” and go through the alphabet as far as you’re able. Note: I like to make myself think of different animals than I did during the last time I used this technique to keep it fresh.

- 5 senses: What do you see around you? What do you hear around you? What taste is in your mouth? What does your skin feel like (hot, cold, wind, soft cushion, hard surface, etc)?
*You can use your hand and touch things near you, paying attention to how they feel.

- Do it backwards: Count backwards, spell your name, your town, your state, etc backwards.

- Butterfly hug: cross your arms and snuggle yourself. Take your mind to how it feels in your body, in your hands, in your arms, etc.

- Choose a category: How many flavor ice creams can you name? How many states can you name? How many colors can you name? How many dog breeds can you name? How many colors can you name? Etc.

- Clap your hands together. Now tap palms to thighs, palms to chest, palms to underarms, jumping jacks, begin again.

- Move! Run in place, jump up and down, do stretches, twist body to the left and right with limp arms allowing the hands to slap your body with each twist.

At one point along my journey I made a small notebook with many grounding techniques in it and carried it in my bag wherever I went. This way I could pull it out and not have to try and remember what to do when my brain was not able to function well.

I hope these help you! If you know of someone who lives with anxiety or panic, please pass this along to them. Also, visit my page! This week I am adding several post with grounding exercises. At the end of the week I will compile them all into one album for your convenience. 🌼

Grounding and our feet. ✨✨✨ I know it’s no surprise that our feet are powerful grounding mechanisms!! Oh, but let me tell you all the ways in which they are!!! 😊

Our feet are energy conductors. Virtually every organ and bodily system is represented in our feet. They are made up of 52 bones. Our feet contain an incredible number of nerve endings, with estimates ranging from over 7,000 to around 200,000 per foot, making them highly sensitive sensory organs that send crucial information about pressure, temperature, and texture to your brain for balance and movement, with the soles having more nerve endings per square centimeter than almost any other body part.

For some solid grounding, turn to your feet! Here some ways:
- Simply turn your attention to your feet. Pay attention to what they feel like. What sensations can you feel? A vibration from energy flow? Your heart beat? Feel what the surface under them feels like. Are they hot or cold? Just taking our attention to our feet grounds us in an amazing way.
- Pick a passage way you cross daily. Make an intention that every time you cross that passage way you will mindfully take in every sensation of your feet from heel to toe as they take those 2-6 steps. Forget to do it? Turn around and go back through the chosen passage way to help you to remember next time.
- Walking barefoot on grass, known as grounding or earthing, is good because it connects you to the Earth's energy, which may reduce inflammation, lower stress/cortisol, improve mood, boost circulation, strengthen foot muscles, and support cardiovascular health by balancing the body's electrical charge and absorbing negative ions. This direct contact stimulates nerve endings, promotes relaxation, and helps neutralize harmful free radicals, leading to better overall well-being.
- Take those bare feet to a river and sink them in the soil for an extra boost on 👆. Riverbed soil is rich in microorganisms which aid in gut and immune health and can be a natural antidepressant! Not to mention, the flowing water in a river clings to negative energy within your spiritual body (energetic sphere) gabs hold, and carries them away. This is why you feel so refreshed after being near bodies of water.
-Massage those feet! 🦶 Massaging our feet not only takes our attention to our feet for grounding but it also allows for better energy flow for the entire body. (Amongst many of things!)

What is grounding and why is it important?

Grounding is when we use focus to stabilize our spiritual body into the Earth so that we can keep our mind in a rational state where wisdom and intuition have the proper environment to thrive. When we are not grounded we feel “floaty” and experience an irrational mind rooted in fear that can race without end.

Anxiety and panic attacks happen when we are not grounded. Grounding in moments of anxiety and panic will stabilize us and bring these moments to an end. We have the ability to regulate anxiety and panic by developing a regular discipline of grounding. The better we become with grounding techniques the better quality of life we will experience.

There are innumerable grounding techniques. In my photos you will find an album where I will compile them all for easy access and review. If these help you, please share them! 🙏

We are in the process of transitioning out of the astrological age of Pisces. An age driven by the ego and fear used to bind us to low level frequencies. We are waking up as we transition into the age of Aquarius, an age driven by harmony. An age known as “Christ-consciousness”. As more and more of humanity awakes… the frequency for ALL is being raised.

This energy shift is very challenging to the mind, body, and soul. Light hurts the eyes when you come out of darkness. It takes time to adjust. As frequencies increase, so will the Light. Causing our “eyes” to constantly adjust. It is vital to understand the importance of grounding during this transition. As a matter of fact, the need to ground is purposeful because the age of Aquarius will be an age of very grounded people. The need to ground will build the foundation the age of Aquarius will be built upon.

How do we ground? I’m not sure you can count the ways. Stayed tuned to my page this week as I post about different grounding methods.

If you are seeing this post on another page, come follow me.

If you know someone needing my messages, please share this.

If you are struggling with handling this frequency shift, reach out to me about my reasonably priced life coaching, I am here to help.
