It’s been a while since I posted.

I needed a breather and the flu + bronchitis got me over the holidays. I’m still recovering, but I’m riding into 2020 with my head held high, full of hope, and ready to have the best year if my life. How about you?

I have so many goals and aspirations, but two of the biggest goals for me are in this picture. I want to truly love myself and be present over perfect. If I get better at just these two things, the year is looking great.

My daughter has had some struggles this year, and when she brought me this picture that she made, I was overjoyed because we are working on her self esteem too. In that moment I also realized how much I needed it too.
# # # #
So, I don’t know how much I’ll be posting or what the blog will look like in 2020. I’ve contemplated it a lot and I’m taking that pressure off myself. I’m taking it day by day. I do know that I’m focusing more on less this year of everything else and more on me, my healing, and my family.

Here’s a cleaner option for pizza 🍕 that my family loves ❤️. The crust is and friendly. We used dairy free cheese (cheese is not ) and sprinkled previously cooked grass fed beef plus their dad loves a nitrate free pepperoni 🍕 on his too. This is a treat I’ll look forward to eating when I can!!!

Busy weekend calls for organic zucchini noodles + organic ground turkey + olive oil to the rescue. I bought these . All we do is throw them in a skillet and sauté until tender and throw in meat I’ve previously made from the freezer. I drain off excess water while cooking and throw in a little oil (we use organic red palm or olive oil). Ground grass fed beef or ground turkey are our favorite meats with it. If you’d like to introduce these to your kids and not sure they’ll like them, I recommend adding an organic sugar free tomato sauce with the noodles and meat if they are used to a traditional spaghetti sauce and pasta🍝 . These kids gobble these up and always ask for more.

I remember a time in life when I couldn’t imagine giving up drinking 🍺 🍷, mainly for the social aspects. Let’s say just say I’ve had my fair share over the years 😂, but with all I’ve experienced, my body finally said no more many years ago. It’s like anything else in life. We feel like there’s no way until we have to do it. Then, we realize it wasn’t that bad, and I’ve now accepted it. I really may enjoy myself more without it at most events.

What puts the happy in your hour on a Friday? Or what’s your fave drink of choice? My husband loves (gluten free beer)

P.S. Yes, one day I hope to have a glass of wine 🍷 again, but until then, I’m thankful for so many other things in life! It took me giving it up to realize it wasn’t that important in the happiness of life.

Being a big sister and a kindergartener can be hard work. They seem so grown up, but they are still babies in so many ways. So, today we took our girl out for a special lunch and green juice later in the afternoon all by herself. This is mama’s plate. She had a bison burger with a gluten free bun, fries 🍟, and used some of mamma’s dressing on her lettuce to make her own salad. I always bring my own dressing. We finished with some time at the park and time near the Chattahoochee River. The weather was gorgeous in the A today. ☀️ It’s not just good for kids to get sunshine; we all need sunshine daily!! It felt incredible to unplug and be in nature today. I hope you get to unplug over this holiday period. You deserve it and need it!!

On the eve of Thanksgiving , I’m thankful for a therapy I’ve been using for a while now called DNRS, Dynamic Neural Retraining System. I haven’t shared anything about it until now because my overall verdict of it isn’t in yet.

I wanted to share this with anyone that would like to read more about it and could benefit from it. I know what it’s like to feel hopeless and that you’ve tried everything yet still fallen short of feeling better. After a ton of research I believe in the power of neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to change, which in turn can change our body’s functionality and immune system.

The program focuses on exercises and strategies for rewiring your brain. It requires tremendous commitment and mental toughness to think stronger than you feel. This is not a simple think positive thoughts or just be happy; it’s way deeper than that and it is hard work. I’ll admit I bought the DVDs over 2 years ago. They say you must do 1 hour a day of practice for 6 months minimum 😳😳.
Several times life got in the way and I stopped because I wasn’t hitting that recommended goal.

I still don’t hit that time goal every day, but I’m much closer and more consistent. I don’t strive for perfection. I do the best I can. So, is it working for me? I’ve seen some positive shifts. Have my physical symptoms shifted? Not yet. Do I believe they can? Yes. How much? Only God knows that.

Read more about it on their website. So many people have used this to heal from many types of chronic health issues. I ordered the DVDs. I didn’t do the in person seminar.

So, I won’t be partaking in lots of the typical exciting food tomorrow and holidays can be hard in that respect. I won’t lie about that, but I’m thankful that I haven’t given up. I deserve to feel better, and I will.

Happy Thanksgiving 🍁🦃!!! I’m SO very thankful for each one of you, and I hope you all have some greens 🥬 on your plate tomorrow and some gratefulness in your heart ❤️!!!!! I’ll be eating ground turkey 🦃; I’m the weird one that doesn’t like sliced turkey 🦃😂. No matter what our circumstances are, there’s always something to be thankful for.

Date night last night to !!! I got my usual double salmon cooked in olive oil only and Bok choy sautéed in olive oil only. Hubby got the Glow Bowl plus double chicken. He loved it! It looks fantastic. It’s quite amazing the nice conversations you can have when kids aren’t around 🤣😂🙌💕❤️😊. We needed it. It was good for the marriage. We finished with some adulting to Lowe’s for new kitchen cabinet hardware. Looking in a store (any store) without kids is like a whole new world 🌎🤣🤣🙌. Not the type of dates we had 10 years ago, but so thankful for them! Always thankful for my crazy kiddos too!!

Are you still looking at my food thinking 🤔 hmmm that looks good BUT I can’t EVER eat that way all the time and I have no idea how to cook like that? Been there. I once thought the SAME things. There’s a reason you are reading this post right now. Am I right? You are worth eating healthy food. Yesssssss, you can do it no matter what your diet/lifestyle is now. Start with small, manageable goals. I can help. Message me.

Here’s 1. Ditch the bread for every meal for 2 weeks. Go bunless for burgers and sandwiches. See how you feel. I promise you’ll feel better. What do you have to lose? Maybe a few inches around your waistline! It happened to me and my husband when we gave it up!!!!! Wheat and grains can be very inflammatory for so many people, not just those diagnosed with celiac. You may feel joint improvements and more! And..... news flash we don’t NEED bread 🥖 . Give it a shot. 2 weeks. I dare ya! 💪👏👍🙌💪 (yes I know thanksgiving is upon us-there will always be a reason not to try. Think of the reasons to try. )
