In early sobriety, everything felt like too much.
Too loud.
Too emotional.
Too overwhelming.
I didn’t realize at the time…
My nervous system had been relying on alcohol to regulate.
Without it, I felt exposed.
Raw. Unsteady.
And for a while, I thought: Maybe I’m just not built for this.
But what I was actually experiencing was: A dysregulated nervous system learning a new way.
Slowly, I began to:
✨ Pause before reacting
✨ Breathe instead of escape
✨ Create moments of safety inside myself
And over time…
What once felt overwhelming became manageable.
Then peaceful. Then empowering.
If you feel like everything is “too much” right now—
You’re not broken. You’re rewiring.
