You’ve heard of entering the age of Aquarius. What about leaving the age of Pisces? The ages go backwards, just like the lunar nodes, hence, what signs the eclipses are in.
Each age lasts about 2000 years, so the age of Pisces was essentially the Christian era. We can see the symbolism throughout with Jesus, fisher of souls, and his sacrifice, resurrection, mysticism, healing, telepathy, etc. We also saw the blurring of boundaries, which is associated with Pisces. We saw a lot of illusion and delusion, particularly surrounding the Christ concept and how it has been absorbed, usurped, and inverted to manipulate the masses.
And we’ve seen mass waves of intoxication, personally, transpersonally, and environmentally - through drugs and dependencies, whether biological, psychological, spiritual, or political. Toward the end of age of boundless Pisces, the excesses of the industrial age permeated and contaminated our biosphere so that everyone and everything is impacted.
Pisces is also associated with lymph,
the detox mechanism of the body. As Pisces represents the return of the soul to the collective, lymph represents the return of of experience collected from the body and deposited into the heart, the nucleus sun of the organism, in order to be born again.
Pisces, can also be associated with excess or addiction. So it’s interesting that here - before the vernal equinox, the astrological new year (the resurrection) - we observe lent, sacrifice indulgence, and seek balance. I didn’t grow up practicing lent, rather Protestant liberation theology, but even many of these groups have been co-opted, rebranded, and weaponized. So I’m returning to the rituals that tied early Christianity to original earth-based practices.
Throughout the Bible, oil is used for blessings. This grounding ritual is seen in Abhyanga and other traditional medical practices with multiple systemic benefits. Toward the end of Jesus’s ministry, we also see a few instances of blessing via the feet. Jesus washes his disciples feet and later receives a blessing from a woman whom others reject, and she anoints his feet with oil.
In medical Astrology, the feet correspond with Pisces. And just as Pisces is the amalgamation, dissolution, and transcendence of the signs, the feet are maps or mirrors of the rest of the body.
During Lent/Pisces season, I am honored to extend this love offering to my community: Foot Reflexology and Fascia Work for free/by donation/for trade according to your means or abilities.
