In this season of life, the social media world feels pretty noisy and distracting. Part of our own journey is protecting our energy and applying it to what is most meaningful. Creating content frequently does not feel like the best use of energy. We are still using our passions to create tools - but you may not see us posting so much - simply because it hasn’t felt as authentic.

Feel free to reach out to us if you have questions about sourdough, your food journey, ingredients and so on. We genuinely enjoy talking about these subjects and we love to help!

Thank you for all your love!

The food pyramid was promoted to the masses for a couple of decades. While the food pyramid is not so popular these days - the impact of the food pyramid on our mindsets still prevails.

To believing that cereal is the best way to start your day - and thinking that the seed-oil-filled fake butter you are consuming is a healthier alternative… we can thank the food pyramid for brainwashing our subconscious into thinking this is best for us.

What we lacked in protein, we made up for in refined carbs. No wonder we felt so tired. Our muscles and cells were screaming for nourishment - and we continued to provide ourselves the bare minimum.

How much different would our lives have been if we understood the importance of not only protein, but also bioavailability of our food? We were convinced that a 500 calorie burger was the same as a 500 calorie handful of Oreos. We were convinced that a salad would do more for us than a steak ever would.

All these things in the name of “weight loss” - which never actually worked out. The only thing we lost is our connection to nature and understanding of our bodies.

From the beginning of time, there has always been a deep infatuation with health, and food and the connection between them.

Do you use food as medicine?

Do you use herbs and plants as medicine?

Are you curious what foods are actually healthy for you?

Are you interesting in us posting some information pertaining to medicinal properties in things that you probably call "weeds"?

We like to think that we control the food standards in our homes because we pay for the groceries and we prepare the meals.

But how long have we been doing this on auto-pilot?
When did we actually decide on our food standards and how were they influenced?
How often do we evaluate our food standards?
Are we eating the way we were told to eat in the 1990s - or have we evolved?

The conversation around food and whats good for us is constantly changing. I think people make the mistake of outsourcing their knowledge about food to things like the news, their peers and even bigger governmental/medical movements. This is not to say you dismiss everyone. However, its important that we actually understand how our food is working for us (and for our families) instead of just drinking the tea that the marketing companies are selling us. I remember growing up thinking that all I needed in life was Special K and strawberries. Thank goodness we evolve.

Question things. Question everything.

Once you’ve got enough answers - create your own standards :)
