Simple Homemade Breakfast Sausage

We batch make the seasoning to store in the pantry and batch bake patties and keep it in our freezer using the ground beef from the cow.

The simplicity of this and flexibility (and flavor 🤤) make this a staple in our home!

We make patties and freeze them, and simply pop them in the oven to warm in the mornings. Makes the morning with two kiddos stress free and I know they’re getting wholesome, nourishing food.

The seasoning:

It will last for months in an air tight jar, but it usually gets used up pretty fast here!

- 1 cup high quality (mineral) salt
- 1/4 cup garlic powder
- 1/2 cup parsley
- 2/3 cup sage
- 1/4 cup black pepper
- 1/4 cup thyme
- 1/4 cup coriander
- 1/4 cup oregano
- 1/4 cup nutritional yeast

If you want to make it maple - add 2 tbsp maple syrup per 1lb beef! 🫶🏼

To make the sausage:

Add 1 tbsp to 1 lb ground beef!

Make ground breakfast sausage by adding to your meat while cooking on stove

Or form into patties by adding your meat into a bowl, adding the seasoning and combining. Form into patty shapes and lay on a sheet pan or baking dish. Cook for 15 minutes at 375! Eat fresh or freeze and reheat for an easy breakfast!

Constantly overwhelmed? Living in stress? Let’s talk protein.

If you feel stuck in overdrive, you may be lacking adequate protein. Protein isn’t just for muscles, it’s essential for creating the neurotransmitters that help regulate emotions and stress response.

This isn’t about willpower or stress management, but simply supporting your body and brain the raw materials it needs to do those things and function in the first place.

Shift from overwhelmed to in control. Start your day with a minimum of 30g protein and aim for around a lb of protein per lb of body fat a day!

Not the perfect plan - the most sustainable one.

The one that ACTUALLY works, when life is crazy (because it happens).

You don’t need more willpower, you need to save your nervous system.

You’re stuck in that cycle - I’ve been there. Going ALL in and then just burning out. NOT because you’re lazy, unmotivated or not even necessarily because you’re not doing the right things.

It’s because the way have been taught to go after our goals is all wrong.

Your habits are wreaking havoc on your nervous system (under eating, overtraining, food restrictions, over-hydrating), and you develop more symptoms (fatigue, burnout, anxiety, depression, overwhelm, brain fog etc). You step on the scale and you tell yourself you’ve been doing ALL the right things, but the scale isn’t moving (or it may even be going up). Your body is going to hit the brakes hard and fast.

Then cravings come, you start falling off plan, starting over every Monday, jumping from diet to diet and the scale just keeps going up.

You can break the cycle. YOU aren’t broken.

My feed the last few days has been flooded with new year, new me or better me posts.

If I’ve learned anything, Jesus is the answer. Not all the things you wrote down to make you “better”.

Placing Jesus at the root of all of your goals will always be what gets you feeling content, joy and peace.

Let’s stop the shame cycle and tap into what your body is saying!

Maybe all those weekend binges actually mean we need more food throughout the week.

Maybe those intense chip cravings mean we need some more sodium.

Maybe those crazy coffee cravings mean we need to get more magnesium or prioritize more rest.

When we start seeing things through that lens instead of beating ourselves up for our lack of self-control, we can find grace and a sustainable approach.

We are bio individual beings, but there’s still basic things we can implement for our goals.

Starting off with a strong breakfast, eating within 30 mins to an hour of waking can set the tone for all of your meals for the day! You’re less likely to have blood sugar spikes and cravings!

Getting the morning and evening sun helps balance blood sugars, sets your circadian rhythm and lower cortisol to help your nervous system!

Focusing on animal proteins can help the body not only just get enough protein every day but the vitamins it has! Minerals play an extremely important role, so don’t just chug water but add in healthy electrolytes (use my just ingredients code in my bio!), bone broths, adrenal cocktails etc into your day. And just focus on Whole Foods vs processed

Weight lifting burns more calories in the long run, vs cardio. Cardio also spikes cortisol and for those trying to heal, usually isn’t the best option anyways! Building muscle helps burn fat, sets your metabolism and has plenty more benefits. Take the focus off of how many calories you burn and stop spending hours at the gym!

God is our healer! “But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds” Jeremiah 30:17. Turn to God first vs constantly searching the next fad, what supplement you need or all of the answers. Pray before your meals, ask for healing, for strength on your wellness journey. Ask for guidance and for discipline. This helps build your relationship with Jesus while putting your trust in HIM instead of the protein shake you drank this morning after your workout.

Are you dehydrating yourself drinking your water?

If you’re not replenishing your water with minerals, you’re likely flushing minerals out of your cells and dehydrating yourself 😳

Adding minerals into your daily drink intake is important and there’s plenty of different ways to do that!

First, try to stick to spring water! Purified water is depleted of everything, along with reverse osmosis water! Try taking a pinch of mineral salt before each glass of water to pull the water in your cells.

I love starting my day with a glass of warm lemon water with a pinch of salt, then adding electrolytes into my big water cup, and enjoying an adrenal cocktail after lunch for a pick me up!

Make sure your mineral salt and electrolytes don’t have additives! I love crucial four salt and just ingredients electrolytes are my favorite!!
