🎂 Balance — Not Deprivation 🍎
Food and birthdays….
It’s completely okay to enjoy sweets and treats! Birthdays are special, and a slice of cake (or two) is part of the fun. But that doesn’t mean the entire day has to revolve around sugar and junk food.
We can celebrate with balance with fresh fruit, smoothies instead of soda, healthy baking alternatives for sweet treats and still enjoy the treats without going overboard. Kids don’t need to feel sick or sluggish from “birthday food” to feel celebrated.
It’s not about being strict — it’s about showing them that healthy and delicious can exist in the same celebration. 🥳✨
Because the best gift we can give them is feeling good, energized, and cared for!
This was my 5 year olds birthday treat for school today. 👇🏻 It’s fun, simple, mostly healthy.(And they have whipped cream to go on top 😋) Yep - I’m “that mom” and I’m okay with that 😃 My girl will still get her cake later tonight - but that was exactly why I tried doing a healthier treat instead. I did not want her having cake at school then cake at home as well. Sugar overload will cause her to get hyped then crash with heavy emotions and tiredness. I am not saying don’t eat cake or don’t have sweet treats. Just BALANCE. 😁 Your body (and mind) will thank you!
