It is a common debate as to when to stretch.

A new study says all those squats you've been complaining about might just be really good for you. Researchers found those who reported weakness in their quadriceps had higher risk of developing arthritis than those who didn't.

No matter how annoying they might seem, they're safe and they're worth it if they help prevent arthritis.

😞 Are you spending too much time in the same position at work? 😞

Are you feeling tightness and stiffness throughout your body? 🤕

We have been hearing a lot about this lately as people have been spending more time on the computer at home and/or work.

Today, most of us also have access to a sit to stand desk but don’t take full advantage of it.

👉🏼 If you are one of those people I would suggest you switching from sitting to standing every 30-60 minutes (so do a full hour of sitting work then an hour of standing work)

❓ How about if I don’t have that option❓

That is OK as well

👉🏼 You can always break the cycle by taking a break every 30-60min.

👉🏼 Even if you say you don’t have the time for a break I would challenge you to simply do a lap around your chair and get right back at work. It literally takes 5 seconds to accomplish that.

🧊 Why I DON’T use ICE after an injury 🥶

Everyone heard about RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation) and how it’s concept was introduced in 1978 by Dr. Gabe Mirkin, MD.

❓Did you know that Dr. Gabe Mirkin does NOT recommend that method now❓

A lot of new studies have shown that ICE may not be as beneficial as they thought it would.

✅ It takes 21 days to create a habit. Exercises should not be any different.🏋🏼‍♂️ Especially when you are injured and/or in pain.

You should NOT stop exercising due to pain and/or injury.💊

You may have to MODIFY activities or exercises but there will always be something for you to do.

Think of it as brushing your teeth - it should be a DAILY routine

It does not mean you should go as hard as you can every single day, but you should definitely MOVE on a daily basis to promote a better and healthier lifestyle.
