Mission Monday, February 23, 2026

We’ve all heard or said the expression, “If everyone else jumped off of a bridge, would you?” While there is ‘something to be said’ for fitting in and not being the outsider, who we are truly meant to be is a deeply personal journey. It is a journey into reality ~ the reality of embracing who we are and celebrating our individuality. We walk a common path ~ a path toward wholeness and yet, each step along the way is ours alone to take. We encourage each other. We pray for each other. We even journey alongside each other ~ nor ‘for’ each other ~ not ‘against’ each other. We journey side by side as friends.

Mission Monday, February 16, 2026

We all know the panic that sets in when we misplace our car keys, can’t locate our cell phone that we put on vibrate or drop our wallet. We retrace our steps ~ put everyone on alert ~ tear the house apart until we find our prized possession. When it comes to more internal and personal matters like the ‘finding of ourselves’ do we exert the same energy and effort? Finding and embracing the best version of ourselves is undoubtedly worth any time, effort and energy we put forth. In ‘losing’ the old, we allow the blessings of the ‘new’ to transform us, forever.

Mission Monday , February 9, 2026

In a time long ago, maybe even in a land far away, manners ~ respect ~ integrity ~ decency……. were the ‘law of the land’. Most of us probably remember all of that and live by that code of ethics. The nightly news, however, reminds us that ‘what was’ isn’t necessarily ‘what is’, today. We have a throw-away society of both things and people. We see it most graphically when someone is run down and left on the side of the road to die. That should disturb us and move us to be a united force for change. Maybe it starts with a simple “please and thank you”. Maybe it starts with stepping back and letting someone enter the doorway before us or holding the door. Maybe it’s a lot of little things that build on one another and give life and breath to decency. Just maybe……

Mission Monday, February 2, 2026

This picture definitely gives new meaning to being “stuck between a rock and a hard place”! We often find ourselves in situations where ‘how we proceed’ seems like a tremendously daunting task. Will any move we make cause the ground beneath our feet to crumble? We know life’s path is unpredictable and there are no guarantees. We know, too, that we are given the strength and conviction we need to tackle the potholes and speed bumps on the path before us. Each step ~ each detour ~ each ‘recalculating’ of our inner GPS brings us closer to that which we seek with all of our hearts.

As January comes to a close, how many of our well-meant New Year’s resolutions have fallen short in just a few short weeks? The plethora of “spinning plates” we wear ourselves out trying to manage can be overwhelming. We talk about ‘one day at a time’. Perhaps it’s one of our resolutions. It’s really one step at a time ~ a step with conviction ~ a step in faith. Plates will come and go. They will spin and spin, again. If one falls, it’s not necessarily the end of the world. It may be an opportunity to step back ~ regroup ~ steady ourselves to resume the ordered chaos life can be.

Mission Monday, January 19, 2026

This picture is called “A Heart of Many Colors.” Not being there when this group assembled ~ how cooperative the students were is unknown. Young children tend to be more accepting and open to the differences in others. While youth can be complicated, there is often an innocence there that offers a welcoming spirit. The absence of that spirit is learned behavior and it stifles growth. Today, we remember the life of a man who lived and breathed peace and unity. His dream was that one day a “heart of many colors” would grow and empower society to joint together as brothers and sisters in Christ. In simplicity and humility, let us share the best of who we are and beckon it forth from others.
