Jeepers Peepers! Have you seen these sneakers?

It’s crucial to prioritize attending recovery meetings and reading God’s word. Be diligent in forming a healthy and viable support team that can overwatch your blind spots. We all have them. Satan is sneaky, crafty, and constantly battling to disrupt and destroy. You need to be on guard for the things you’ve overcome. At times, they can sneak and/or creep back in. Keep working on the steps of recovery. They work if you work it because you’re worth it!

“in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬ ‭

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬ ‭

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬

Every pain, every scar, every setback- God can redeem it all for a purpose far greater than we can imagine.

Hurt does not disqualify us - it refines us. In Celebrate Recovery, we learn that our struggles can become powerful tools for connection, empathy, and healing. When surrendered to God, even our darkest moments become light for someone else’s path. Nothing is wasted when it’s placed in His hands.

Romans 8:28 says, “and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

Forgiveness can break the cycle of dysfunction in our lives. It starts when we forgive our parents and those closest to us who may have taught us things that didn’t align with biblical truth. When people say hurtful things about us, God wants us to respond by blessing them. God offered us a forgiveness we could never earn. After being forgiven so much, how can we deny such forgiveness to others? Just as God forgives us without limit, we should forgive others without keeping track and counting their wrongs.

Matthew 18:21-22
Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!”

Colossians 3:13
Accept each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

1 Peter 3:8-9
Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.

"Meeting Jesus changed Zacchaeus’s life, and with that life-change, he decided to make restitution for everything he had ever cheated anyone of. In fact, he decided to restore it all fourfold. This guy was willing to put his money where his mouth was by making restitution.

Again, the more serious your offence, the less likely you’ll be able to make restitution. There are some things you can’t restore. But don’t underestimate the power of a sincere apology. Here’s what you do: discern the right time, put on the right attitude, be sure making contact is appropriate, then say something like, ‘I’m sorry. I was wrong. I don’t deserve your forgiveness, but is there any way I can make restitution to you?’ And you leave it at that."

Hurts, Habits, and Hang-ups are anything that keeps you from realizing your full God-given potential. They can throw you into a worldly detour headed toward destruction and despair. EVERYONE struggles with something! And CR has a place for you.

•What is a “hurt”?
Any life experience that may have damaged your heart; Some offense against you that crippled your ability to deal with the world in a healthy way; Something that may have twisted your view of yourself, God or others. Examples: betrayal, abandonment, abuse, divorce, abortion, adoption, neglect etc.

•What is a “habit”?
Habits tend to be unhealthy patterns that often start as a perceived “remedy” for some problem in your life, but end up turning into a chronic bad behavior or addiction. Habits are the repeat, default scripts you run to when the going gets tough. They are your grooved plays that continually lead to trouble in your life. Examples: food, phone, relationships, lying, substances, worry, watching tv, shopping, gambling, etc.

•What is a “hang-up”?
The roadblocks that keep you from progressing further in God’s plan for your life. They are often shaped by some bent thinking you may have received as a child or some unhealthy attitude you may have adopted as a means of coping with life’s challenges. Examples: perfectionism, keeping silent, people pleasing, anger, resentment, co-dependency, the need to control, etc.
