Finally some good news! A federal judge has ordered that the emergency funds set aside for SNAP be used to prevent a lapse in benefits.

This just happened today so we aren’t sure yet what this means for those affected. We will post more info as we learn more.

We interrupt your regularly scheduled SNAP content for this annual reminder: no one is wasting their drugs on your kids.

This has literally never actually happened.

Thank you & goodnight ✌️

We’re not even sure where to start. This is horrific. We all remember when this man claimed that Kilmar Armando Ábrego García was affiliated with MS-13 due to his tattoos, which was clearly bu****it.

This will be used to further target black and brown people. This will be used to further terrorize our communities. We have to protect each other. We’re all we’ve got.

The harm that this man is doing will take decades to recover from.

SNAP funds will not be released for November due to the government shutdown.

In Philadelphia alone, there are an estimated 500,000 people that rely on SNAP funds for food. This is coming after food banks have already had SIGNIFICANT cuts in funding. YOUR LOCAL HUNGER RELIEF ORGS CAN NOT DO THIS ALONE!

Please consider supporting us and other organizations making sure folks have access to food and don't starve. Donate on our website or Venmo

We can & will get through this. We take care of each other.

Last night, one of our co-founders, Shannon Ashe— a licensed clinical social worker that has a private therapy practice in addition to her work with TEP—was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a Woman of Influence: Rising Star 🌟 for her work in supporting folks on an individual and community level.

We are proud of her and grateful to the business journal for recognizing the importance of the work that we do every day in supporting our community 💜

There are dozens of articles out this week about "Bluetoothing", the practice of injecting the blood of someone who has used drugs in an attempt to get high. This is not possible, as the substance would be too diluted in the body and is quickly processed, making it impossible to get high from injecting someone else's blood.

That said, this practice will rapidly spread HIV and other blood borne pathogens.
