🩵 MIRACLE FAMILY MONDAY 🩵 Today our miracle family is Ella Shannon. “My name is Ella Shannon and I am currently a 7th grader at St. Christopher’s School. In October of 2020 my life took a traumatic turn when at 8 years old I was diagnosed with ALL B-Cell Leukemia. We were told I would need 3 years of aggressive treatment due to me being high risk for relapse. The next 3 years were filled with hundreds of hospital visits with many being inpatient. I went from being an active 8 year old to a child needing braces on both legs, the use of a wheelchair, and countless physical therapy appointments. Through the countless pokes, spinal taps, and surgeries my doctors and Child Life team at CHOP were there for more than just medical treatment. They became part of our family. They not only saved my life but also saved my spirit. I am happy to say that in March of 2023 I was officially in remission!! Although I still have to get regular checks with Oncology, today I am an active 13 year old who enjoys playing volleyball. There are not enough thank you’s for all the support given to me and my family by CHOP, my community, and people like you who selflessly give to Naz-a-thon.”
