Students in the LifeWorks Day School art classes have been busy creating beautiful work. The portraits featured are inspired by Johannes Vermeer’s iconic Girl with a Pearl Earring. They also explored upcycling by transforming everyday egg cartons into charming little rabbits.

Our elementary students recently stepped into the role of young scientists as they explored the fascinating world of fungi by dissecting mushrooms.

Through this engaging, hands on activity, they examined the different parts of a mushroom, learned how fungi grow and discovered the important role they play in our ecosystem.

Practicing gratitude at LifeWorks School at Media! Students recently took time to reflect on the positive things in their lives by creating their own gratitude jars. Through drawing and writing, they filled each jar with the people, moments and experiences they’re thankful for, celebrating the power of reflection and positive thinking.

Our Life Skills students had a great time exploring science and creativity while dyeing eggs! Through this fun, hands‑on activity, they experimented with colors, patterns and different techniques, learning about color mixing and simple chemical reactions along the way. It was a perfect blend of curiosity, discovery and artistic expression.

Our students in residence recently planted grass seeds as part of a hands‑on science experiment to observe how plants sprout and grow. 🌱

The seeds began sprouting in just six days and are continuing to grow, now pictured at day 16! Experiences like this help students learn patience, responsibility and the joy of watching their efforts take root.

Our students got into the March Madness spirit by designing and creating their very own jerseys! 🏀 It was a fun and engaging way to celebrate the excitement of the tournament while encouraging creativity, teamwork and school spirit.

Our elementary students recently wrapped up an exciting project all about biomes and their creativity and curiosity were on full display! From lush rainforests to icy tundras, students explored ecosystems from around the world, researching the plants, animals, climates, and unique characteristics that make each biome special.

This hands-on project showcased impressive research skills and sparked thoughtful learning about the diversity of our planet’s environments. We’re so proud of their hard work!

Today, our students had the opportunity to hear from representatives of OVR, who shared valuable insights on problem-solving in the workplace. Students learned practical strategies for navigating on-the-job challenges, communicating effectively and working through real-world scenarios, skills that will support their success in future employment.

Our students continue to use their voices to make a difference. One of our students recently created a powerful poster to raise awareness about the stigma surrounding addiction. Through creativity and courage, they helped spark an important conversation about compassion, understanding and supporting those who are struggling.

We are incredibly proud to see our students using their talents to promote empathy and awareness, this is the kind of leadership that inspires real change.
