NEW CHALLENGE- In western Iceland, where land meets sea in a dramatic sweep of cliffs and sky, Kirkjufell rises like a myth made real. This iconic hill is especially striking in August — draped in lush greenery, framed by cascading waterfalls, and crisp summer air. The perfect backdrop for this month’s challenge. We’re taking on a full loop of the 4-mile coastal path that circles its base, then pushing higher with a 3-mile roundtrip ascent to Kirkjufell’s summit. That’s 7 miles total, or 36,960 feet of pure, focused effort. August is for chasing clarity. Lace up — and meet the mountain at sea level, then rise to the challenge.
