🌿 Breastfeeding is NOT black and white. There is not a one size fits all because every mom, every family, and every baby has different needs. Breastfeeding has too many variables to consider, so not every journey will look the same.
🌿Get multiple opinions if you feel like something is not right OR if you feel like you are not being heard. Sometimes there are issues with breastfeeding in the beginning, and they are not taken seriously. Trust your intuition. If you feel like your issues are not being addressed, reach out to us or another trusted provider.
🌿Whether you make not enough, just enough, or too much milk, each comes with their own issues. We oftentimes compare ourselves to other moms, but rest assured that we are ALL dealing with issues in one way or another.
🌿A baby (mostly an exclusively breastfed baby) will typically feed much more frequently than 2 to 3 hours. If your baby is showing hunger signs (i.e. rooting, trying to suck on their fist, fussiness), feed them!
🌿Expect many more dirty diapers with a breastfed baby! Breastmilk’s nutrients are absorbed quickly and digested easily. This equals less waste and pooping more frequently.
