💭Prompt: Sis, what are my personal warning signs that I’m heading toward burnout?
🤔Reflection: As you walk, gently check in with yourself. Burnout doesn’t always arrive loudly—it often shows up quietly through exhaustion, irritability, feeling disconnected, or constantly pushing through when your body is asking for rest. Many women of color are taught to be strong, dependable, and resilient—but strength also includes knowing when to pause. Notice the early signals your mind and body send when you’ve been carrying too much for too long.
🛠️Coping Tool: Try a Burnout Awareness Check-In. Reflect on three areas:�• Body: Am I feeling constantly tired, tense, or overwhelmed?�• Emotions: Am I more irritable, numb, or discouraged lately?�• Behavior: Am I withdrawing, overworking, or losing interest in things I usually enjoy?
If you notice these patterns, give yourself permission to slow down, delegate, or rest before the exhaustion deepens.
🗣️Rest is not a reward you earn after burnout—it’s something you deserve along the way. Protecting your energy is part of protecting your well-being.
