Transparency post:
Most women on a weight loss/ healthy body journey have that one item of clothing that to them says “you did that” .
For me it was these shorts! I have had them
for over 5yrs- they still had the tag on them y’all. I never could fit them from the day I bought them but I just thought they were so cute and said “well one day I’ll get in them”

The day finally came! This might seem small to some but this is huge for me! Not just because I fit in the shorts- and look good den a MF in them😂
But because I have been pouring into me in ways I never have, I learned to do things I never thought I could, I have loved on me in ways I never knew I needed- all because I have
been consistent and committed to me !

Walking really has been a game changer for me. I not only feel good physically but mentally and emotionally.

💭: when have I let uncomfortable feelings make decisions for me—and what might shift if I paused instead of reacting?
🤔: As you walk,identify how discomfort shows up for you—anxiety, fear, urgency, doubt, avoidance , distraction, irritability. Not every uncomfortable feeling needs to be acted on immediately. Sometimes, it’s information—not instruction. What would it look like to respond from intention instead of reaction?
🛠️: Try the Pause + Name + Choose:�• Pause – Take a breath , check in with your body before acting�• Name – “I’m feeling anxious / overwhelmed / scared”�• Choose – Ask: What response aligns with who I want to be, not just how I feel right now?
This creates space between feeling and action—where your power lives.
🗣️Reminder: You are allowed to feel everything without letting every feeling decide your next move.

💭where in my life might it be time for me to pivot rather than keep pushing in the same direction?
🤔As you walk, reflect on the idea that changing direction doesn’t mean you’ve failed—it often means you’ve grown. Many of us are taught to persevere no matter what, but wisdom also lives in knowing when something no longer aligns with who you are becoming. Pivoting can look like shifting your mindset, redefining a goal, adjusting boundaries, or choosing a path that better honors your peace and purpose , or reevaluating the process you take to achieve your goal.
🛠️: Try a Values Check-In. Ask yourself:�• Does this path still align with my values?�• Does it support the life and peace I’m trying to build?�• What small shift could move me closer to alignment?
🗣️Remember, pivot as many times as you need to , in order to gain the right footing for the next position
Growth sometimes asks us to turn the page, take a new path, or rewrite the story. You are allowed to pivot toward the life that feels more true to you.

💭: how can I hold myself accountable to my goals while also honoring my capacity and giving myself grace?
🧐: As you walk, consider the balance between discipline and compassion. Many women of color have been taught to push through, stay consistent, and not fall short—but healing invites a softer approach. Accountability doesn’t have to come with harshness. It can look like staying committed while also adjusting when life, energy, or emotions shift. You can be dedicated and gentle with yourself at the same time.
🛠️: Try a Flexible Accountability Check-In:�• What is the intention/goal/commitment I’m focusing on right now? �• What has got in the way/ or what am I anticipating getting in the way (if anything)?�• How can I adjust the goal to better fit my current capacity?
Shift from “I failed” to “I’m recalibrating.” Progress is still progress—even when it looks different than you planned.
🗣️: You don’t have to choose between being disciplined and being kind to yourself. You deserve both.

Burnout doesn’t always arrive loudly—it often shows up quietly through exhaustion, irritability, feeling disconnected, or constantly pushing through when your body is asking for rest. Many women of color are taught to be strong, dependable, and resilient—but strength also includes knowing when to pause. Notice the early signals your mind and body send when you’ve been carrying too much for too long.
🛠️Coping Tool: Try a Burnout Awareness Check-In. Reflect on three areas:�• Body: Am I feeling constantly tired, tense, or overwhelmed?�• Emotions: Am I more irritable, numb, or discouraged lately?�• Behavior: Am I withdrawing, overworking, or losing interest in things I usually enjoy?
If you notice these patterns, give yourself permission to slow down, delegate, or rest before the exhaustion deepens.
