This is a true story. And one of many that has fueled my belief in the power of self healing.

I started getting abnormal paps in my 20s.

My sweet ob/gyn at the time was unconcerned as I was the "picture of health".
"These typically resolve on their own"

Which is true. Abnormal cells, cancer cells, can grow & recede undetected in the body. I was in a healing/relapse pattern for reasons that I can NOW see clearly, but didn't at the time.

So it didn't get better, it got worse. And it was time to take action.

What I DID know was that I wanted to have children, & the idea of cutting off part of my body that wasn't broken to begin with didn't sit well with me.

Doing so could compromise future pregnancies.

I researched instead: how to heal cervical dysplasia naturally.
I found a passionate forum of women online who shared their stories. They did it, & so would I.

I found a naturopath who ordered the supplements for the protocol outlined & I committed to the process. It would take 2 rounds & a year of intentional healing using:

πŸ‘‰πŸ½Indole-3-carbinol, high in cruciferous vegetables; converts to DIM in the body & regulates estrogen.
πŸ‘‰πŸ½ Methylated b vitamins to ensure detox pathways were functioning
πŸ‘‰πŸ½ High dose vitamin C
πŸ‘‰πŸ½ Antioxidants
πŸ‘‰πŸ½(The craziest part...) Escharotic suppositories w/ green tea & orange bitters intended to slough off damaged cells w/o killing the healthy ones

At the 6 month mark I was downgraded from CIN III (basically a grade below cervical cancer) to CIN I. I was encouraged but I wasn't done. I kept going. In another 6 months my pap came back totally clear AND without evidence of HPV. They told me that would always show up, & yet it was gone.

I share this to empower others to believe that self healing IS possible. I'm not throwing shade at anyone who chose a conventional route. The C word is terrifying. Your thoughts will turn towards death very quickly.

It's that very process of fear that can take you deeper into illness.

Increased migraine reports may have something to do with the presently increased geomagnetic activity.

Enough evidence suggests that this can have an impact our bodies (which operate via cellular electromagnetism by nature!)

Some reasons for this include:

Electromagnetic Sensitivity:
Some folks are sensitive to EMFs, which include geomagnetic activity. This might manifest as increased physical stress or anxiety. Evidence points to lower Heart Rate Variability (HRV is a marker of CV stress) w/ increased geomagnetic activity.

Stress is a known migraine AND inflammation trigger--geomagnetic fluctuations could exacerbate this.

Stress affects mineral utilization & depletion--magnesium in particular--a mineral critical in calming the nervous system (& known to be deficient in migraine sufferers).

The fix?
I wear grounding stones like smoky quartz & shungite to deflect EMFs! Research supports their efficacy, & it certainly can't hurt.

Also, up magnesium intake, primarily through diet (pumpkin seeds, Swiss chard, spinach) or try a quality supplement or topical spray.

Circadian Rhythms:
Geomagnetic activity can dysregulate sleep & hormonal cycles, which further impact adrenal function & mineral balance.

The adrenals play a crucial role in regulating sodium & potassium levels--any disruption could impact these minerals & potentially trigger migraines.

The fix?
Focus on quality sleep hygiene & stress reduction. Want tips? Ask me!

Sodium & potassium balance are trickier. Without HTMA results, we can't guess, but most people are low in potassium, so add foods that are rich in it. (coconut water & avocado)

Neurological Impact:
Geomagnetic activity may influence neurotransmitter levels or brain wave patterns, sparking migraines (esp if you have underlying mineral imbalances or sensitivities).

The fix? This one is tricky. Bracing for impact can help w/ coping, & nervous system regulation is key. Stay tuned for more!

Why do I keep droning on about minerals?

Because they're responsible for just about every metabolic process in the body.

If you're not getting them in abundance in your diet, you're probably deficient.

If you're under acute stress, your system is compensating by storing and using more of them as needed.

If you're under chronic stress or burned out? You've blazed through your stores and your body is notably suffering.

Supplements alone won't cut it. You have bigger changes in your life to make.

My ONE universal recommendation to everyone?

Clean drinking water.

For most, that means filtering it properly.

If you are lucky enough to have access to clean, spring water, great! I would probably still test it for metals and ticks to be sure.

For everyone else, reverse osmosis does the best job of removing everything. TOO good in fact. Most of the minerals are removed as well and we definitely need trace minerals coming in with our drinking water, so you'll need to add them back in.

Sadly, the soil our produce is grown in is getting progressively more depleted and contaminated.

We're getting more pesticides and heavy metals, and fewer minerals and nutrients.

The best way to combat this is to grow your own food when possible and compost your food scraps to feed your soil.

This isn't possible for every food you consume unless you're dedicating your life to the endeavor.

The rest of us have to be vigilant and intentional.

RO filters water is considered most reliable, but also most expensive, frequently imperfect (loss of waste water AND the first minute of water that is filtered out of popular models is usually too acidic and not fully filtered).

My favorite has been Frizzlife brand, but AquaTru and Clearly Filtered are great brands.

For easy, affordable filtration, ZeroWater fridge carafes are a solid option, just make sure you change the filter on schedule and still add trace minerals.

Just remember, your carbon fridge filter really isn't getting enough out of the water.

I use filtered water for cooking as well and have shower filters on every shower.

Minimizing exposure is important to me!

The label "healer" is useful when seeking guidance, or you need assistance getting "unstuck", or inspiration to discover the power that you inherently possess to heal yourself.

Each of us. I do not heal others in the sense you think. I merely open the space more fully for self-healing to blossom.

A attunement, such as I have received, is a gift indeed.

The gift was the process I went through to receive it.

See, the first step in becoming a true Reiki Master is diving deeply into self-healing. The process is ongoing.

I learned so much about myself, my wounds, my patterns, my pain. I've taken what I learn through that process into my practice with others.

Any gift that I possess now to help others heal is that of being an open channel to receive Divine love & light from above, and to quickly & efficiently pass that healing light into the person receiving it.

The most powerful healing happens when you know from the depths of your soul that you are at the helm.

Yes, ask for help.

Yes, utilize available tools.

Yes, secure a mentor who is successfully walking the path.

But never forget that the Divine exists in you & everything around you, and you simply have to tap into that power & growth to heal.

When you look honestly at yourself, cease playing a victim, stop blaming others or punishing your body, you will gain a clarity that opens the path to healing before you.

There is no disconnection from the physical, mental, emotional, & spiritual dimensions of your being.

To heal your physical body, you have to listen more deeply to it. helps to open that line of communication.

What are you ignoring? Repressing? What is preventing you from embracing your wholeness?

To heal is to live, breathe, & FEEL authentically, returning you to who you always have been--

a splinter of the Divine.

Meet Michele, Matt, Marcella, and Mateo.

We are the Rogers Family, the new owners of Timberline Williamsburg and we are beyond thrilled to host new and seasoned glampers at our six tent location in Chickahominy Riverfront Park!

Michele's lifetime of varied experiences ranging from her childhood upbringing in a Jersey shore motel to health and fitness coaching and passion for nature coupled with Matt's background in the Marine Corps, love of adventure, and entrepreneurial spirit prepared us perfectly for this role.

Trying to resolve your physical health issues by exclusively physical means is like trying to fix a frozen computer by banging on the keys.⌨️

The actual problem is the code running in the background, not the hardware that you're taking your frustrations out on.

Your body is the hardware. Your emotions & belief systems are the code. Your entire being is encompassed by both.

If the computer isn't responding how you want it to, it probably requires a reboot, & some software reprogramming.

Our Story

With over 15 years of personal training and professional fitness experience, I offer my services locally in Richmond Va to in-home clientele and in my home studio. Additionally, I am available for distance training via video call! I cater to all ages, body types and fitness levels, but specialize in corrective exercise, pre-/postpartum fitness and bridging the transition from physical therapy into a strength routine.

My other areas of expertise and interest include barefoot running and training, fat loss and balance training. Whatever your goals and current fitness experience, my mission is to help you to connect with your body and make healthy movement a permanent part of your life.
