At first, it often serves a clear purpose: creating relief, softening intensity, and helping individuals access emotions or experiences that feel out of reach. There can be a sense of urgency in that phase โ a need for change, for movement, for something to feel different.
But as the work deepens, that urgency begins to settle.
What follows is a more grounded, intentional engagement. The medicine becomes less of a solution and more of a support. In some cases, it gradually steps into the background as individuals build internal capacity and integration takes hold.
This shift reflects something important โ not reliance, but growth. Not dependency, but a clearer sense of choice and direction in the healing process.
