We believe in healthy active lifestyles, not diets. Providing nutrition as individual as you. Innova

Diet trends are not going anywhere, and neither is our need to talk about them.
and .r.gordon break down the psychology behind why people keep falling for it, then get into the actual science behind keto, carnivore, paleo, intermittent fasting, and GLP-1 medications. Plus a cheat code for evaluating any diet, including the next trendy one that hasn’t been invented yet.
The truth is most of these diets are just recycled versions of the same few ideas… repackaged, renamed, and sold to you with really convincing anecdotal evidence.

Mobility work and stretching are not particularly exciting, which is probably why so many people wait so long to care about them.
and chat about mobility and why so many of us know we should do more of it… but don’t. They break down what mobility is, why it matters, and how tight hips, stiff shoulders, old injuries, stress, desk jobs, pregnancy, and aging can all show up in the way we move.
They also get into the difference between flexibility and control, how compensation patterns can lead to pain somewhere other than the actual problem, why breath work belongs in the routine, and how hydration, nutrition, and stress management can all affect how your body feels. This one is also a good reminder that mobility does not have to take an eternity. A few intentional minutes here and there can go a long way.
If you’ve been feeling stiff, achey, restricted, or like your body is asking for a little more attention lately, this episode will help you think about mobility and stretching in a way that’s practical, realistic, and a lot less all-or-nothing.

Electrolytes don’t start and end with tossing some extra sodium into your water and hoping for the best.
and talk about the sodium-potassium balance that helps hydration do its job. They break down why sodium gets all the attention, why potassium is usually a missing piece, and how this balance affects energy, recovery, cramping, performance, and how you feel day to day.
They also get into why so many people are under-eating potassium, why more water is not always the answer, how athletes’ needs differ from the general population, and what to watch for if your hydration strategy is falling flat. From salty sweaters to supplement marketing to practical food swaps, this one covers the stuff people usually miss.

For anyone triathlon-curious but convinced it’s too complicated, too expensive, or only for people with fancy bikes and a suspicious amount of free time… this one’s for you.
and talk through what it actually looks like to train for your first triathlon, especially if you’re starting with a sprint or Olympic distance. They get into what makes triathlon feel intimidating, why shorter races are usually the smartest entry point, what kind of fitness you actually need to get started, and how little gear you truly need to toe the line. They also talk through common beginner mistakes, the reality of training for three sports without turning your whole life upside down, and why the swim deserves respect even if the rest feels approachable.
It’s a practical, low-BS conversation for anyone who wants to try something new without getting swallowed whole by the chaos, cost, and culty corners of endurance sports.

A lot of people are already doing athlete sh*t without fully believing they get to call themselves an athlete.
and talk about what it means to be an athlete, why so many people think that identity belongs to a certain body type, and how chasing a certain “look” can distract from the habits, mindset, and support that actually matter. They get into comparison, body image, performance, social media brain rot, and the difference between wanting to look the part versus actually living it.
This one is for anyone who has ever felt like they’ve had to earn the title through their aesthetic, not their actions.

Feeling strong for the next decade means training like your future body matters too.
and .r.gordon talk about what it means to build strength that lasts. Not just hit PRs, chase aesthetics, or throw yourself at whatever trend, but training in a way that helps your body stay capable, resilient, and strong through different seasons of life.
They get into the stuff that actually supports longevity: movement quality, mobility, stability, recovery, sleep, eating enough, and building muscle in a way that serves you long term. They also talk about how your definition of strong can shift over time, whether that’s because of age, pregnancy, changing goals, or just realizing that constantly running yourself into the ground is not the flex the fitness industry has made it out to be.
This one is a good reminder that strength is not just about what your body can do today. It’s also about how well it keeps showing up for you years from now.

Eric didn’t need to clean up every part of his life before making progress.
A lot of people think they need a less busy schedule, better timing, or fewer obstacles before they can make meaningful progress. Usually they don’t. Usually they need a solid plan, realistic expectations, and a coach who knows how to work with real life instead of pretending it won’t affect the process. has done exactly that for Eric (and for a whole lot of other clients) over the years.
Progress rarely happens when everything is calm and convenient. It happens when someone gets consistent, makes adjustments when needed, and keeps going.
We’re so proud of you, Eric!

Everyone wants recovery to be sexier than it is.
So now we’ve got massage guns in every gym bag, cold plunges in every backyard, and garage saunas getting treated like some kind of secret weapon for better performance. But are these things actually useful, or do they mostly just make people feel accomplished?
and get into what the research actually says about massage guns, saunas, and ice baths, where these tools can be useful, where they’re wildly overhyped, and why feeling better is not always the same thing as recovering better. They also talk through the big caveat nobody wants to hear: the boring basics still run the show.
Sleep, nutrition, hydration, stress management, and training you can actually recover from will outperform almost every flashy recovery trend on the market. Every time.
This one is for the athletes wondering what’s worth their time, money, and energy, and what’s mostly just wellness-world glitter.

Getting more steps in during your workday sounds easy in theory. In real life, not so much. Not when you work at a desk, your brain is cooked, your schedule is crazy, and going for a little walk somehow starts to feel like a whole thing.
and talk about why walking is still one of the most underrated tools for health, recovery, blood sugar, mood, and overall sanity. They break down where “10k a Day” came from, why more is not always better, and how to build a more realistic step goal without making your life revolve around your watch.
They also get into exercise snacks, walking breaks, walking pads, workday routines, and simple ways to move more even when you’re busy, sedentary, or just deeply committed to your excuses. Equal parts helpful and unhinged, this one is basically a pep talk for anyone who knows they’d feel better with more movement but needs a more realistic way to make it happen.
Also: a few hot takes on weather, cities, and trash TV, because obviously.

The word diet gets thrown around often in this industry; even more than the word fitness does. We find ourselves asking people what diet they are on or what their diet looks like. When we think of the word diet, we think of eating less in order to become smaller. The industry is stuck, and we are here to offer something a little different when it comes to coaching, nutrition, and how we look at food and ourselves.
Welcome to Black Iron Nutrition, where we never expect you to be smaller. In fact, we are here to teach you how to be so much more than just another person on a diet, that you will never use the word diet again. We are in the business of creating sustainable, goal oriented lifestyles, not in the business of shaming clients for having lifestyle goals beyond a certain level of leanness. BIN is here to teach you far more than “eat this” or “don’t eat that”, as we pride ourselves on being educators. We have fully embraced the notion that each individual client needs to be educated and coached a very specific way, thus we supply the full package.
Enter the concept of teamwork. No coach is the “perfect fit” for every client, thus Black Iron Nutrition has created a team of coaches to cover all the bases. A powerlifting recovering addict, a mom with two jobs, a vegan with Hashimoto's, a CrossFit Games Athlete who has under gone major weight loss, a farmer who has competed across several sports, a bodybuilding le***an, and a YouTubing grad school student make up our staff of certified nutritionists. We have an effective pairing system to ensure that the client is working with the best possible person to help them reach their ambitions in a judgement free, relatable environment.
BIN is about building a trusting relationship with your coach, your food, and yourself. We insist on communication, honesty, and transparency from our clients in order to ensure they receive an uplifting experience. And to set the tone, we ask that you tell us everything about yourself upon starting. The relationship starts by putting it all on the table.
And then we get to work on your mental hang ups, inconsistencies, and negative habits in order to make both mental and physical progress. We hold you accountable while allowing you to be human on your journey (not ours). Your journey could mean your pre-baby weight, your wedding day, healing from illness, competing on the national platform, 100 pounds of weight loss, making it to the CrossFit Games, or maybe you just don’t want to fear your favorite foods anymore. It is entirely up to you and we are here to help you see it through.
Everyone wants to be able to share an impressive transformation photo; both coaches and clients. And while we care more about the mental transformation that you can’t see through photos, we deliver. Beyond changing your thought process, we will change your body. Whether your goals are athletic or aesthetic, we implement a simple, effective, and scientific approach to individualized nutrition that anyone can adhere to.
Give us your hard work, and we will transform you. Well wrought, hard fought.
