🔥 mistakes students can make when making their rank list 🔥
👀As rank list season approaches as quickly, is important to think about how best to make your rank list and what are challenges students can face when coming up with them. Ultimately, it’s important to take your time, dig into the value of each program, and be very thoughtful about why you want to put a given program at a given rank position. Make sure you give yourself adequate time to be able to do this because this is a very important career altering decision you are about to make. With that being said, can be easy to try to rank programs based on what you think the program is going to do on their list. This is not something that I would typically encourage, and this is not the way the matches designed; the match itself is designed to help you get to highest possible rank on your list. additionally, if you are dual applying, do not switch your list around last minute, as that can potentially lead you into a specialty you may not necessarily prefer
😎😎this process is totally stressful and I’m here to help support you and your questions. Do not hesitate to reach out, if you have questions on how to handle your rank list as you move forward to making it

🤔Biggest secret in medicine that no one ever told me🤔

✍🏽going through the process of medical school, I don’t think I ever could’ve envisioned the amount of paperwork that I would end up needing to do, in general. There is a vast amount of information that is required to make practices run, whether your a surgical base specialty or non-surgical base specialty. Especially early in practice, or depending on the structure of your practice even if you were seasoned, the volume of administrative work that is required to make your practice, run smoothly, can sometimes be overbearing and especially if you don’t necessarily have a ton of resources or support at your disposal
👋🏾that being said, this was not something that I totally appreciated when I was in my early stages of training both in medical school as well as resident, but it’s definitely something that I wished I was mentally prepared for!
👀What is the your secret of medicine that you wished someone had told you previously?

Are You Okay
The events of the last few weeks and the tragic killings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti, are alarmingly disastrous. Alex’s final words are burning a hole inside my heart, because to answer truthfully—I am not OK.
In the context of wondering what this means for our ability as health care workers to drive to work and take care of patients, much as Alex has done, or to walk down the street in order to help someone out, or for the future of my children, and what exactly I share with them about these current events, there is a deep seated uneasiness that I have
As much as I believe in our sense of humanity, these particular tragedies are catastrophically terrible not just for the victims families not just for the communities they were a part of, but for our own sense of safety, well-being and self
how much longer can this go on?
I want to keep looking forward and keep looking for the light through what feels like a very dark time, but I also know that we cannot let their names be lost in vain
