Judi Chamberlin was a mental health advocate and a person with lived-experience. Her voice and work helped elevate the voices of many. She was a known activist in the movement for psychiatric survivors and dreamed of liberation and choice in mental health care.

It's Children's Mental Health Week! When we talk to kids about mental health, we keep it simple and start with the topic of emotions.
Emotions can be BIG or small. And, all emotions are valid and welcome.
Regardless of the emotion, kids deserve a safe space and trusted adult to express themselves!

This is an opportunity for high school students to step away from the hustle and bustle of the fall season for a night. They'll be able to eat dinner 🍕, create meaningful art that connects with their mental health journey 🎨, and learn more about mental wellness 🧠.

Last week, Commissioner Jamila Winder invited local CPSs to attend Montgomery County's Reflections in Recovery event. The event was filled with powerful examples of recovery and hope.

Often, the topic of substance use/abuse is still considered taboo. However, at this event, many folks bravely shared their stories of recovery and lived experience. Cultivating safe spaces to hold these conversations is an act of su***de prevention and we are proud to see our county participating in such measures.
