Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction is an educational program that teaches how to increase awareness in our every day life. The program format, initially developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, is an experiential 8 week program, where participants learn and practice a number of mindfulness skills which they can start to apply right away. Those that have completed the MBSR program report decrease level of stress when addressing issues in their personal and work life. About the course: This is an eight weeks course, each class meets for 2.5 hours, it includes a 7 hour day of guided mindfulness practice, and requires 25-45 minutes of individual daily practice. The course is experiential, mindfulness skills will be briefly described and largely practice in every moment. In each class participants learned through practice and leave the class with concrete ways to integrate the mindfulness skills throughout their week. The skills can be applied to personal, work, interpersonal or work environment. Mindfulness skills include walking meditation, mindful movement, sitting meditation and informal mindfulness practice. Remember, the more you practice the easier it can be to integrate the skills learned in the course into your daily life. About the teachers
