Since 2014, ADVENT has led an ambitious charge of local residents and the northwest Philadelphia business community to gather and recycle clean, perfectly good, yet unwanted clothes. Through these efforts, we felt we could get clothes to a place where they're needed and hopefully raise some money for our local community center. Now, in our 4th year, we are proud to have collected 35,000 lbs of clothes and over $10,000 for North Light Community Center. North Light has been the perfect partner, with incredible value, proven guidance and leadership throughout our neighborhood. ADVENT felt compelled to conceptualize, brand and spearhead the effort after North Light's Annual Pints for North Light event in late October. This would continue a well-deserved spotlight on the community center through a giving time of year. We have had incredible success with 5,000 lbs collected and $1,000 raised for North Light in 2014, 15,000 lbs and $3,800 in 2015, and over 15,000 and $5,600 donated in 2016! The Thanks4Giving Clothing Drive has proven exceptional growth and a trusted provider of unmarked funding for North Light at the beginning of the next calendar year. With the help of community leaders, past financial sponsors and 30+ local businesses, the drive is as strong as ever. November 1st through the end of 2017, we'll be accepting all CLEAN clothing and footwear of all seasons, including coats, hats, gloves & scarves. THAT’S A WRAP! Nearly 10,000 lbs of clothes and $2,000 brought in this year through our community clothing drive to benefit North Light Community Center. That brings our grand total over 4 years to over 45,000 lbs! Thank you to all those who donated, the 38 businesses who were dropoff locations this year, and the volunteers who gave of their time throughout the past 2 months. The Thanks4Giving Clothing Drive is certainly one of our favorite achievements at ADVENT. Start stockpiling those unwanted clothes for our 5th Annual in November and December of 2018!

The second pick up by ClothingShoeDrive.comyesterday weighed in “Just shy of 10,000 pounds,” according to Joe M. DeCandido, owner of ADVENT Consulting, LLC and coordinator of the Thanks4Giving Clothing Drive. That means the drive raised almost $2,000 for North Light! Our thanks go to the many volunteers who diligently got all the clothing to the storage unit, donated by Mr Storage throughout the drive. And thanks to everyone for supporting North Light by making donations!

OVER 5,000 POUNDS DONATED! We’re off to a fantastic start with this year’s Thanks4Giving Clothing Drive. Thanks to everyone who made donations at all of the area drop-off locations. And a special thank you to everyone, especially the ADVENT Consulting, LLC and Designblendz staff, who formed the “bucket brigade” for the first pick-up on Tuesday at. Mr Storage Even the driver from ClothingShoeDrive.com pitched in.
The drive continues to the end of the month, so keep donating your clean, gently used clothing. Help us reach our goal of 15,000 pounds.
