When I was at IFM's annual meeting a few weeks ago, I had the honor of being interviewed by James Maskell of Functional Forum.

Here's a link to that video (my interview starts at 53:16, but the interviews with Tracy Gaudet and Deanna Minich are definitely worth watching as well!)

The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the membership organization for many ObGyns throughout the country (I was a member in the past) did a really good thing this week.

When it was clear that the CDC website was being scrubbed of important guidelines for women's health as part of the DEI initiative set in motion by the current administration, they grabbed the data and are sharing it on their own website. I guess being a woman is part of DEI now?

I want to thank my colleagues for standing up and doing this.

ACOG highlights the need to protect access to scientific research and evidence-based data. This statement urges policy makers to support medical research; promote the free flow of information; and keep health care decisions rooted in science, not politics.

Basic recipe: quarter one orange and out in Mason jar. Add foraged conifer tips like pine needles or cedar. (When I pick them, I leave them in the garage or sunroom overnight in case some bug friends need to relocate!). Remove any brown needles prior to adding to jar. Pour in raw honey, preferably local. Cover and leave on counter about 2 weeks, shaking and inverting jar each day.

So I had an interesting start to this week. Someone hijacked my Facebook accounts and simply deleted them. Yep, this account, my personal account AND the Medicine in Balance account that I had put on pause.
So, rather than hassling with trying to reestablish everything, I'm just starting over.
Glad you found me again!
And if you know anyone who used to follow my page, please let them know so they sign up to follow me again. I obviously can't remember you all!!

And if you don't know me, I'm a functional medicine gynecologist. The history goes like this: 14 years of conventional obgyn practice, followed by 18 years at the integrative practice I started, Medicine in Balance. There, I worked alongside many other amazing practitioners, all under the same roof. We learned so much from each other and our patients benefited from our collected expertise and wisdom. Almost 2 years ago, Medicine in Balance was put to rest and I started up a fully telemedicine practice.

I am also an educator, teaching for the Institute for Functional Medicine as well as David Winston's Center for Herbal Studies. I do webinars for various organizations and wrote a chapter in Rakel's textbook Integrative Medicine, 5th edition. I also coauthored "Boosting Your Immunity For Dummies". Other training includes herbal medicine and energy work/ shamanic healing practices.
