Ketamine Group Retreats
KAP Training + education for therapists Full Living is led by Karen L.

Full Living is a psychotherapy practice rooted in thoughtful care, clinical depth, and guided support. We specialize in director-led therapy matching, helping individuals find a therapist who truly fits their needs, goals, and preferences. Instead of navigating endless directories alone, our very human director helps you figure out a good move for your healing journey. In addition to therapy matching, Full Living offers ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) for individuals who feel stuck or are seeking deeper therapeutic work. Our KAP offerings are grounded in preparation, integration, and ethical clinical care; including our group retreat, *Becoming Your Own Ally*. We also provide training and education for therapists, supporting clinicians as they begin the journey to onboard KAP into their practices, and then to continue to thoughtfully explore and deepen their understanding of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy within a psychotherapeutic framework. Smith MSS, LCSW, a seasoned psychotherapist with decades of clinical experience. Karen personally facilitates the matching process and oversees all therapeutic offerings, ensuring care is thoughtful, well-paced, and deeply aligned with each individual’s needs. Are you seriously and deeply curious about psychedelic therapy? 👇🏻

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy can help loosen entrenched narratives, lower emotional and cognitive defenses, and create direct access to emotional material stored in the body. 🧩

When entered with intentionality, psychedelics, ketamine in particular, can give you access to embodied experiences of self love and compassion, well-being and this potent, concentrated, lived experience of goodness.

During the days that follow, your brain’s neuroplasticity is wildly fluid and flexible, offering up novel thoughts, whole trains of thought, never considered, on the issues that brought you to the treatment…the themes where you and your brain and body and your therapy have been most stuck 🧠

Psychedelic assisted psychotherapy will feel a lot like therapy week in and week out. The medicine is used for new access, new opportunities, new angles, but for the same work of re-engagement with your own life, but from a different stance.

When engaged in KAP treatment you will be working with a KAP psychotherapist for at least several weeks, maybe as your primary therapist and maybe in collaboration with your existing therapist.

Really. First, dont drown out your own thoughts and energy by flooding it with the most mood and mind altering substance ever...music. We are using this treatment to be with the self. Your thoughts are enough.

But also, silence is profoundly rich while on ketamine. Give it a try.

And if you haven’t read my book, I published an excerpt on my blog from my “Snarky Opinions” section of the book.

Most folx really can’t imagine what a ketamine group experience is going to look like. 👇🏻

After building some community and journey intentions together over virtual group psychotherapy sessions during the week, we gather as a live group for a long afternoon on Saturday and again on Sunday.

After some meditation, group process, guidance and ritual, group participants will lay down, on their own mattress, with blankets, pillows and eye masks, so they can experience a private medicine journey with their inner healer.

Our ketamine-assisted group experience is grounded, carefully structured, and deeply therapeutic; centered on safety, preparation, and meaningful integration. 🌿

This is the kind of thing people have a lot of questions about. If you’re curious and want to explore whether this could be a fit, send me a DM or click the email button on my profile to begin the conversation. 💬

Why experiencing KAP as a therapist matters and why our Ally group is ideal 👇🏻

There are a lot of necessary and meaningful ways to learn about ketamine and ketamine assisted psychotherapy, including education training and even practicum opportunities. Having said that, it is hard to work with this medicine without knowing about it from the perspective of lived experience.

The medicine offers such novel and almost ineffable alterations to mind and soma, requiring familiarity to use it thoughtfully as a tool for psychotherapy.

Learning from direct experience with the medicine is key. My strong recommendation that therapists try it in a group context is because it additionally gives them a chance to learn from the group about the very different ways this medicine can land.

The group experience also provides therapist participants a full demonstration of how I walk an entire group through the process of KAP preparation, managing expectations and setting intentions. It is a rich chance to get a full picture offering of the kind of healing KAP can provide our clients.

Experiential's are only one learning tool, but in the case of psychedelic assisted psychotherapy, exploring the tool through use is key. This group experience will give you a good sense of what KAP looks and feels like, and if you might be interested in weaving this tool into your practice.

Curious about Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy but just wish you could see it first?

KAP Demonstrations Videos...Designed for clinicians who learn best by watching!

Lots of folx learn best by seeing for themselves what an intake session looks like, how we manage expectations, what happens in facilitated medicine journeys, how to manage different scenarios in early KAP sessions, etc.

In my years of training psychotherapists to work in KAP I found that folx really value an opportunity to see if for themselves. This is a package of videos to demonstrate various elements of ketamine assisted psychotherapy.

Consent to Treatment (7 Minutes)
Touch Refusal Exercise (5 Minutes)

We can lean hard into change, but there is no real rushing it. Like all alchemical processes, time is a key ingredient to emotional development, healing, and growth. We really do need time to metabolize, process, unpack, chew over, digest, integrate everything!

It can be so hard, in the heat of a moment, when filled with emotionality, to imagine that the simple variable of time will absolutely radically alter that feeling. It doesnt mean it will make it go away, but time will alter wildly. When you are enraged and ready to burn down your whole world, that isnt your only truth. Time lets some of the other truths surface, so then you can figure out what stoy you want to write thought the actions you then choose.

Don’t try to figure s**t out without the ingredient of time.

And if you dont have your place to contemplate sorted out...go to therapy! If you are in PA, DM or email me from my profile so I can either work with you or connect you to the right person. Friends dont let friends go to random therapists :)

Let a human, in this case an exceedingly experienced therapist, guide your therapy match. 👇🏻 🧠

Finding the right therapist shouldn’t include scrolling a directory, searching random profiles, of filling out a form of about you “issues”. So many people come to me after feeling lost, unseen, or mismatched by automated platforms that promise ease but miss the heart of the work.

My therapy matching process is personal, relational, and thoughtful. I take time to understand your history, your goals, and the kind of therapeutic relationship you’re actually seeking; not just what looks good on paper.

Every match is made with care, clinical insight, and deep respect for how vulnerable this step can be. 🤍

When the fit is right, therapy feels different. You’re not starting over again and again.

You’re supported from the very beginning by someone who understands both the human and clinical sides of this work.

If you’re ready for a more intentional way to begin, DM me “MATCH” or click the email button on my profile to start the conversation. 💬

We will take care of you in every way. 👇🏻

Joining a group of strangers to do a deep dive into your core self assumes a safe container. Ketamine can make people think we are swinging from the chandeliers.

We aren't. This is a carefully built program, designed and facilitated by a leader in the legal, safe, ethical above ground work of ketamine assisted psychotherapy.

We do this program every couple months, and now have an easy, familiar flow to our offering, with an adorable amount of details. We aim to take the best of care of all our participants, anticipating and accommodating needs, to create a magical, soft, warm, generative weekend community.

Our goal is to free participants to fully focus on their inner process rather than logistics. When people feel held, the work can actually land. 🌿

There comes a moment when the structures that once held you no longer fit. 👇🏻

You feel the quiet tug of misalignment. You notice how often you’ve been orienting around others. Something in you knows it’s time to come back to yourself; not to improve, but to rely on yourself more fully. 🌿

This is not about escape, random fun thrills, or recreational play. 👇🏻

While psychedelics can be powerful without therapy, psychotherapy is trying to harness that potent experience to shift how you move forward in life.

Psychotherapy success with KAP comes when you are able to integrate those epiphanies into the way you live, relate, and care for yourself long after the experience ends.

In our KAP work, the focus is radical, sustainable change. When folx are ready to try KAP, they have actually already done tons of their own internal work. KAP is an opportunity to break through some of those most stuck places.

This means focused preparation for a curated psychedelic journey, and then juicy, deep unpacking of those journeys, so their meaning and truths become operational in your life.

The medicine can open new doors, shine light on core truths, and give you a taste of freedom, but unless you can then access that in your daily life, it was just a cool “trip”. 🌿

If you’re seeking something meaningful, grounded, and clinically held, this opportunity may be for you.

First, emotional,/psychological/ relational development does not happen when the system is in distress.

And, as important is that if and when provided a sustained, reasonable environment, the self will naturally lean right back into the work of continued growth.

As a parent, and an analytically oriented psychotherapist, I leaned hard into the concept that there is actually very little I need to teach my son: Rather, I am working on creating an environment with enough stability, safety, and self-agency, so that his self, not my molding, gets an opportunity to develop.

But “safe spaces” are a regular need in our own daily lives too. Everytime our system is distressed, because we are upset or scared or angry or overwhelmed or disappointed or confused, the key to resolution is a moment with yourself.

If you can barely imagine what a safe space looks and feels like, much less how to build one, it is time to go to psychotherapy. It is one of our great offerings. A place to calm your system, not through escape of what ails you, but by attending to your well being while contemplating your original truths.

If you are in PA, let me help you connect to a real therapist.

I talk to so many people looking for help they have felt totally overwhelmed by the entry step. 👇🏻

Is it psychotherapy you should look for? What kind? DBT/EMDR/CBT/ IFS?!! And then how do you know if someone is any good? Who helps you figure that out?

The uncertainty alone can keep you from starting, even when something inside you knows its time to do something big.

This is why I created a clear “Start Here” path. You don’t have to fill out forms to tell me what you are interested in or what you think will work for you. You will talk to me to do that.

And I will use my decades of experience to see if therapy, and what kind of therapy, and which particular therapist, might be a good match for the work you are interested in doing.

Whether you are a therapy virgin, a regular deep diver interested in establishing a new therapy relationship, need help in your family and romantic relations with couples and family therapy, are someone sick and tired of their current situation, or in active crises, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I can sit with you and together we will figure out what might help.

How you start matters. A good match can help shape the entire experience that follows. 🌿

If this resonates, your next step doesn’t need to be big. It just needs you to courageously nudge yourself.
