LAST CALL... Just a couple more spots open!

I'm super excited for my two writing workshops that start this week!

If you feel called to write and don't know where to begin, or would like support for the writing you have already begun, message me!

Here are the details....

Finding the Healing Author Within:
A Writing Group for Individuals on the Path of Healing

Meets the following Saturdays, 10am - noon EST, online via Zoom:
March 20, April 3, April 17, May 1, May 8, May 22, June 5, June 19
To be human is to struggle. We may feel trapped and helpless, at the mercy of overpowering circumstances. Yet another power is also always present, a vital creative force that flows within ourselves. This writing group will show you how to harness what C. G. Jung calls the “innate drive” of creativity for personal transformation. In this online workshop, you will learn how to connect with your own creative drive through the written word, to evoke the healing capacity of the images within you. All of our work will be confidential in order to provide a safe, secure, and supportive environment in which to write, explore, and express freely. Our group will convene biweekly and will remain small in order to provide adequate space for each participant to share.

The Well: A Weekly Writing Workshop for Women
Meets Thursdays, 6 - 8pm EST, from March 18 - June 3, 2021
Online via Zoom

Learn how to use writing as a tool for personal development and expression while you get support from other women doing the same. In this workshop you will gain the tools and confidence to use writing as an ongoing means of self-discovery, personal growth and expression throughout your life. Our focus will be on generativity and process rather than craft or technical skill. All levels of writing experience and all those who identify as women are welcome!

Why "The Well"?
The image of the well makes a frequent appearance in fairy tales and dreams as a symbol of the creative Source. Since ancient times, women went to the well not only to draw water for the sustenance of themselves and their families, but to gather with each other in shared experience. This online workshop is meant to be a virtual gathering place where women can convene and encourage each other in their own story-telling. Together we will dip into our individual, symbolic ink-wells to make our marks on the page and in our lives and communities.

Erich Neumann, in his book The Great Mother, refers to "the spiritual aspect of the feminine transformative character" that is present during times of crisis.

He claims:
" . . . such transformation is possible only when what is to be transformed enters wholly into the Feminine principle; that is to say, dies in returning to the Mother Vessel, whether this be earth, water, underworld, urn, coffin, cave, mountain, ship, or magic caldron. Usually several of these containing symbols are combined; but all of them in turn are encompassed in the all-embracing psychic reality, the womb of night or of the unconscious. In other words, rebirth can occur through sleep in the nocturnal cave, through a descent to the underworld realm of the spirits and ancestors, through a journey over the night sea, or through a stupor induced by whatever means-- but in every case, renewal is possible only through the death of the old personality."

My thoughts:
Collectively, globally, we are having a Mother Vessel experience which demands our submission. To deny, fight, make light of, or otherwise interfere is a natural response of the ego (our everyday selves who want to control). But at some point, and in some way, our submission to what is larger than ourselves (and, at core, IS ALSO OURSELVES) is called upon to make way for the New. Or, as the poet Theodore Roethke succinctly put it, we "learn by going where [we] have to go."
