Wishing everyone a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving with your families and friends and prayers for those alone and especially those in the Military!

This is NOT a day to worry about what you eat ...but it's also important to understand how healthy it can be, especially the TURKEY. Most know that Turkey is high in protein, low in fat (w/o the skin) ....but did you know it promotes better sleep because it is high in tryptophan, an amino acid that helps regulate sleep and Tryptophan is a precursor to melatonin, a hormone that’s involved in controlling your sleep-wake cycle.

Also Turkey is packed with Selenium which benefits your metabolism, increases immunity, and acts as an antioxidant to protect against free radical damage and inflammation.
Finally due to its high tryptophan content, turkey may also aid in the treatment of conditions like depression because tryptophan is able to boost the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that is found in the brain, digestive tract and blood platelets.

So Why not eat more TURKEY year round

Health is Wealth! ...AND when you're healthy and wealthy you're more likely to be Happy! With the holidays ending, most of us make resolutions and many of those resolutions fail to first get back to basics. We try to do too much, too soon and end up dissappointed.

So how can we start making some real change? Be honest with yourself about where you are and set goals that will help you build upon small successes over time. Any goal setting requires a realistic plan and timeframe. Getting healthy for example is a JOURNEY... and one of the best places to start is get a annual physical, with the right blood and medical tests (think prevention and getting ahead of any medical problem). The next best thing to do is find a BFF or that someone to take the JOURNEY with to help and inspire each other and share the up and downs along the path to healthy changes.

In just about 10 Days (January 8th) at 8PM I invite you to join a 30 Day GET HEALTHY Group Challenge. I will provide more details in this space over the next week. The 30 day will include Five one hour teleseminars at 8 PM EST (dates 1/8,15,23,31 and 2/6) all from the comfort of your private space and a lot of healthy "stuff" via email in between.

Each teleseminar will have a brief intro, TIP of the day, followed by many education topics (examples: Sugar Addiction and Visceral Fat, Digestion and Gut Health, Hormonal Imbalances - Women and Men) plus time for Q&A. ALSO, the challenge includes a simple and easy to follow 10 day anti-inflamatory detox/cleanse using only real, whole and fresh foods. The detox/cleanse includes a prep phase and options continuing beyond the 10 days. It can be modified to suit your own Bio-Individuality.
