It was no coincidence that I visited the World Vision Orphanage in the summer of 2011 while on my second trip to Hope Alive Clinic in Marianni, Haiti. The orphanage had no running water, 50 children in need of clothing and bedding and the “financial support” that had once been promised was quickly dwindling. The Earthquake of 2010 left these children and ministries with deep-seated needs. OUR AFFILIATIONS IN HAITI:
The World Vision Orphanage, founded by Rev. Henry and Christine Sullivan in 1982 has been assisting Pastor Ellie and other national pastors by providing funding and spiritual support. The World Vision Orphanage School provides education for over 250 community children. Hope Alive Clinic founded by Frank & Leslee Jacobs 20 years ago gives medical assistance to over 1700 local children and families in their community each month. They have recently increased their hours to 24/7 since completing an “on site” hospital that can accommodate 15 children. The list of construction projects, food and clothing donations, education and love over the last 6 years is expansive, but one of our greatest accomplishments has been the completion of a “water purification” system at the orphanage in 2016. This goal was three years in the making and marks the FIRST time ever that the children have experienced clean drinking water. Also launched this year is a new initiative called C.A.P. which stands for Concrete Block Assistance Project. Because of the earthquake in 2010, so many demolished homes in the community that surrounds Hope Alive Clinic remains unfinished because of lack of funds to buy concrete blocks and concrete. With C.A.P., qualifying families will receive the blocks and concrete necessary to finish their homes and give their children a decent place to live. And with this current disaster of Hurricane Matthew we will be focusing even more on this project as funds allow. My home Church, Christian Life Center, in Bensalem, Pa. and many other private donors have been instrumental in supporting “Haiti Initiative”. Through their generous giving of finances and committed volunteers traveling to Haiti with me on a regular basis we have made an impact “one life at a time” As we continue to invest in the people of Haiti, we experience the transformation of our own lives. I hope you will join us in either contributing or going on a trip. Haiti Initiative is a federally approved 501(©)(3) and was started in 2011 for the sole purpose of bettering the lives of the Haitian Children. No officer, volunteer or anyone affiliated with Haiti Initiative takes any remuneration for their services. Every penny in donations to Haiti Initiative goes to the promotion and furtherance of our mission “for the children”. Daniel Corbisello
