This past weekend a few of our UK/European animation team members, ie: "The Eurobes" as we affectionately call them, assembled in sunny Barcelona, Spain for a fun and enriching team-building meet-up. Led by MM Directors Vincent Elsey and Alan Smith, the team had a chance to present creative ideas and strategies for the coming year, while being inspired by Gaudi, Dali…and a fair amount of Sangria!

To help the team continue to learn and grow (as well as have a bit of fun between projects) we throw down various themed R&D challenges throughout the year for those who wish to participate. Our latest challenge was to explore SoftBody Dynamics techniques and see if we could all create a short clip showing off our results. This provided an opportunity for a few of our artists to dabble in the new Cinema 4D softbody tools, Insydiums dynamics tools, and of course Houdini.

MadMicrobe's team recently had the chance to chat with Meleah Maynard on behalf of Maxon to discuss our work behind the scenes on the TV series CSI: Vegas. In this collaboration with visual effects company CosaVFX, our team showcased their CGI and FX expertise, demonstrating the intersection of medical animation and entertainment.
Maxon, known for its industry-leading 3D software packages such as Cinema 4D, Redshift, and ZBrush, recognized our contributions to the project. We're proud of our team's accomplishments and grateful for the opportunity to be part of this iconic series.
