In ancient cultures, April Fool's Day, which comes close to the first day of spring, marked the beginning of a new year.

Then in 1582, Pope Gregory XIII ordered the use of the Gregorian calendar that made January 1 New Year's Day.

Some people, however, didn't know about the new schedule, or perhaps they just didn't think it made any sense.

They continued to celebrate on April 1 and were called "fools" for doing so. This is the origin of our annual day of pranks and practical jokes.

Then we have this belief...💫💛💫

Was believed to have started in Europe and was actually a celebration of the Norse God Loki.

Loki was known to be a trickster God and a shapeshifter. At times he would work alongside the other Gods and Goddesses and other times he would rebel. There really was no telling what type of mischief or support Loki would bring.

He was considered an untrustworthy God, but he was necessary for change. Loki was believed to be the God that brought the chaos before a big change or new beginning.

She wouldn’t believe that I’d walk away from a 9-year relationship & somehow find my strength again.

That lockdowns changed everything… and I still rose.
That I’d build a business from my soul & watch it grow through word of mouth.

She wouldn’t believe the love I’ve felt… or the heartbreak I’ve survived.
Losing my mom.
My dad moving away.
A torn meniscus slowing me down when I didn’t have time to stop.

She wouldn’t believe the betrayal… being defamed, vilified & watching my own family be torn apart by someone hiding behind religion… and having to live with the aftermath of their choices that were never mine.

She wouldn’t believe that I’d have to end another relationship…
only to find myself in the healthiest one I’ve ever known even if it comes with its own unique path we’re still learning to navigate.

Back then, I was just trying to survive.
Now… I understand every version of me that had to exist to get here.

And despite it all… I’m still standing

Congratulations to our newest Reiki Master Practitioner, Jo Ann Ashby.

As a nurse, she has always been called to help others beyond just the physical & now she’s expanding that gift into the world of energy healing.

I can’t wait to see where this journey takes her & how many lives she will touch along the way.
