The Farmacy We are John Mark & Shelly Tyler. So, in 2020, we uprooted our family of 5 from comfortable subdivision living, & moved to a farm in Kentucky.

This fast-paced culture has overwhelmed the mind, body, and spirit of our family causing us to fall susceptible to anxiety, stress-induced illness, neurological and hormonal disruptions, and childhood food sensitivities. While we expected to get a few pets and spend more time outdoors, the Lord had a bigger plan, as we saw the dire need for families to get back to their roots. He began burdening our hearts to share our land with the community, and help other families be whole, be well, and be wise in Christ through renewal of their minds, bodies, and spirits. Now, it’s your time, & we are here for you! It's time to restore your health and the vitality of your family and establish a foundation of wellness for generations to come through natural, holistic, and faith-based healing. Have you heard about MTHFR? I'm going to just drop this here because I keep getting SOOOO many questions about it. The more we learn about it, the more we understand how it can impact so many processes in the body!
MTHFR (methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase) is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the body's methylation processes, particularly in the conversion of homocysteine to methionine, an essential amino acid. Here's how MTHFR influences various processes in the body:
1. Folate Metabolism
MTHFR is essential for converting folate (vitamin B9) into its active form, 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, which is necessary for DNA synthesis and repair.
2. Homocysteine Regulation
MTHFR helps regulate homocysteine levels. High homocysteine levels are associated with cardiovascular diseases and other health issues. Proper function of MTHFR is crucial for keeping these levels in check.
3. Methylation
Methylation is a biochemical process that regulates gene expression, detoxification, and the synthesis of neurotransmitters. MTHFR is pivotal in providing methyl groups for this process.
4. Neurotransmitter Production
MTHFR is involved in the production of neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, which are vital for mood regulation and mental health.
5. Pregnancy and Fetal Development
Adequate MTHFR function is important for proper fetal development. It influences folate availability, which is critical for neural tube closure and overall growth.
6. Cardiovascular Health
