It’s only March, but temperatures across Maricopa County are rising far above normal for this time of year.

If you're spending time outdoors, drink water regularly and try to plan activities for early morning or evening when temperatures are cooler.

Stay hydrated, PHX! Make sure you are drinking plenty of water even when you are not thirsty. If you are outdoors, the CDC recommend drinking 8 ounces of water every 15-20 minutes. Our Office of Innovation also offers a network of chilled water fountains and bottle-filling stations throughout downtown. Find chilled drinking water near you: https://bit.ly/4mVgpEI

An unusual early-season heat wave is expected across California and much of the Southwest next week. Temperatures 15 to 25°F above normal could push highs well into the 90s and even 100°+ in parts of the Desert Southwest, with numerous daily records and possible all-time March records. The early-season heat may increase the risk of heat stress for vulnerable populations, and above-normal temperatures could persist into next weekend. Here are the Key Messages on this event.

Learn how organizations are using the platform to strengthen collaboration and support Maricopa County’s Community Health Improvement Plan priorities.

This session is ideal for organizations that provide direct services, make or receive referrals, and coordinate care across health and social service systems.
