Cambria Harp Kits & Plans "I built your Cambria 34C from plans a couple of years ago, and I've been taking lessons ever since. Kelly in Florida"

Thought you'd like to know that the harp sounds and looks beautiful, and I very much enjoy playing it. Building your own harp can give you a sense of satisfaction as well as a quality harp at an affordable price. We offer the Cambria line of Folk Harp Kits & Plans. These are very good quality instruments, suitable for therapy, students, teachers, travelers, and those who do not wish to hock the family heirlooms just to get a harp. Our Cambria Harps are a type of harp that is often referred to as a Celtic harp or Lever Harp. We have both lap sized and floor models. The Cambria harps are compact, and travel well. Tone is superb, with excellent volume. The string band is well balanced tonally, with standard pedal harp spacing (except for the Wire string 22, which has standard spacing for a wire string harp).

"I have to congratulate Laurie on the quality of the strings. I am not a big fan of nylon strings but these are changing my perception, it's early days yet, but after bringing up to pitch, I managed to play some harmonics easily."

Yet another Happy Harper. "The sound is very wonderfully warm. I used the drawings as a guide modifying the neck construction and also the sound box has a few tweaks. "

"Laurie…I tried the cover on the harp yesterday and didn’t want to take it off! Not even to play the harp! You’ve got the science down making perfectly fitting covers. Many thanks." A Happy Customer

"Dear Laurie,
Attached is a pic of the Cambria harp I finished a week ago. You will note a little variation I made to the base.
I am pleased with it and have acquired a greater understanding of the process. It is still in the early days of tuning before the levers are fitted.
It appears to have a really nice tone and resonance. We had a harpist friend come in and she thought it was beautiful, and has offered to teach my wife. My wife has fallen in love with it and is learning her way around it." Richard in Australia

"Thought to you might be interested in the finished product. I did read that I shouldn't make changes but as I hadn't thought to make a second harp I would exercise a bit of creativity. That was one reason why I retired from full time work; to get creative. Essential dimensions unchanged of course. Still bringing up to tune. So thank you for providing the kit. I've enjoyed the process very much. Now to play!"

Just completed these two Cambria Harp Kits, our harp kits that we sell, usually partially completed. These two are a Cambria 34 C up to A, and a Cambria 29 A to A, note ranges. All solid cherry wood, except for the Baltic Birch Ply sound boards. Full sets of Loveland sharping levers. I have these two for sale at 'Hilltop Music Store', in South Ashland Oregon. I also could sell them directly to anyone who is interested, with a % to the store in that case. The Cambria 34 is $3,607 plus $350 for a soft padded case in a choice of colors. And the Cambria 29 is $2,717, plus $320 for a soft case.

The string spacing is standard folk/Celtic spacing of 1/2 inch from string to string. The string tension is medium-high tension, nylon strings, with bass wires on the Cambria 34
