Contact us (Monday thru Friday 9-5) via call/text at 334-746-4340 or email at pikeroadmobilevet@gmail.com ๐Ÿถ Pike Road Mobile Veterinary Services (PRMVS) provides exemplary house call veterinary care for small animals, enhancing the quality of life for owners and their pets in the Pike Road community and neighboring Montgomery areas. Dr. Marlaina Nelson has practiced in Montgomery since 2019. After years of dedicated community service through brick-and-mortar veterinary clinics, she chased her dreams and launched this business to provide expert veterinary care for families in the comfort of their home and enhance her own ability to be involved in the community with her family. Mobile veterinary care complements traditional veterinary clinics by filling the need for personalized medical management for pets in your home while collaborating with local veterinary clinics to ensure your pet has the best life possible for as long as possible. PRMVS conducts wellness and sick patient examinations, puppy/kitten exams, vaccine administrations, preventative care needs, health certificates, microchip implantation, laboratory services, end-of-life and palliative care, quality-of-life assessments, in-home euthanasia, telehealth consultations, and more. We've partnered with local support veterinary clinics to conduct surgical procedures or other diagnostic testing that your pet may need. Dr. Nelson is available for appointments 3 days a week, typically Mon/Wed/Fri, during the initial phase of the business. As the business grows, she will see patients Monday through Friday. Call/text our business number at 334-746-4340 to request an appointment or through our website.

๐Ÿ’› Client Review Spotlight ๐Ÿ’›

โ€œDr. Nelson and her vet tech are amazingly kind and compassionate service providers. I didnโ€™t even realize a mobile vet existed in our area. Our sweet dog Sierra needed help across the rainbow bridge. Trips to the vetโ€™s office made her so anxious. We were looking for someone who could provide in-home euthanasia, and this led to our discovery of Pike Road Mobile Vet.

Although it was so sad, they were so unfailingly kind and compassionate throughout. I really appreciated the flexibility and consideration this service provides. Sierra had cancer and was quite emaciated in her legs. Gently and patiently, Dr. Nelson and her tech Amy did an amazing job keeping Sierra relaxed and comfortable.โ€ - Barbara W

๐Ÿ’™ November is Senior Pet Health Month! ๐Ÿ’™

Our furry friends age faster than we do, and their needs can change before we even realize it. November is the perfect time to focus on keeping our senior pets happy, comfortable, and healthy! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ

As pets get older, theyโ€™re more at risk for things like arthritis, kidney disease, dental problems, and more โ€” but with regular checkups, we can catch issues early and keep them feeling their best. ๐Ÿฉบโœจ

๐Ÿ“… Schedule your senior petโ€™s wellness exam this month to make sure theyโ€™re aging gracefully and living their golden years to the fullest! Call or text us at 334-746-4340.

๐Ÿ’š Because theyโ€™ve given us a lifetime of love โ€” they deserve the best care at every age.

๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‘ป Halloween might be over, but thereโ€™s still something truly scary lurking aroundโ€ฆ HEARTWORMS! ๐ŸฆŸ๐Ÿ’€

These parasites donโ€™t take a holiday โ€” mosquitoes can still be active, and just one bite can infect your pet. Heartworms cause serious, life-threatening disease, but the good news isโ€ฆ prevention is easy and affordable! ๐Ÿ’Šโค๏ธ

Keep your pets protected year-round โ€” donโ€™t let the post-Halloween chills turn into something really frightening.

๐Ÿพ Stay safe, stay spooky-free, and ask us about heartworm prevention today!

๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿฌ Keep the Candy Away from Pets! ๐Ÿฌ๐ŸŽƒ

With all the Halloween treats around, hereโ€™s your friendly reminder that candy is for humans โ€” not pets! ๐Ÿ‘ป

๐Ÿซ Chocolate contains theobromine and caffeine, which are toxic to dogs and cats. Even a small amount can cause vomiting, diarrhea, increased heart rate, and more serious issues.

๐Ÿฌ Sugar-free candies and gum often contain xylitol, which can cause a dangerous drop in blood sugar and even liver failure in dogs.

๐Ÿญ Hard candies and wrappers can also lead to choking or intestinal blockages โ€” yikes!

If your pet sneaks a sweet treat, give us a call at 334-746-4340 or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center right away: 888-426-4435.

Letโ€™s keep Halloween fun and safe for everyone โ€” treat your pets to pet-safe snacks instead! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿ’– Happy National Cat Day! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿฑ

Today we celebrate our favorite purring companions โ€” the curious, cuddly, and sometimes sassy cats that fill our lives with joy! ๐Ÿ˜ป

Whether your feline friend loves cozy naps, window bird-watching, or zoomies at 3 a.m., todayโ€™s the purr-fect time to show them some extra love. ๐Ÿพ

Here are a few simple ways to celebrate:
โœจ Schedule a wellness check to keep your kitty healthy and happy
โœจ Treat them to a new toy or cozy blanket
โœจ Give them a few extra chin scratches (if they allow it, of course!)

Drop a photo of your cat in the comments โ€” weโ€™d love to see our feline patients living their best lives! ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿพ

๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿพ Halloween Safety Tips for Your Pup! ๐Ÿพ๐ŸŽƒ

Halloween is just a few days away โ€” a fun and festive time for us, but it can be a little spooky for our pets! Here are a few tips to help keep your dog safe and stress-free this week:

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Watch the decorations.
Glow sticks, candles, and fake cobwebs can be tempting to chew or play with. Keep them out of reach to prevent burns or upset tummies.

๐Ÿšช Be careful with the door.
Constant knocking and doorbells can be stressful. Consider keeping your dog in a quiet room away from the action so they donโ€™t slip out or get frightened.

๐ŸŽญ Costumes are optional!
If your dog enjoys dressing up, make sure their costume fits comfortably and doesnโ€™t restrict movement, breathing, or vision. If they donโ€™t love it โ€” skip it!

๐Ÿ’ก ID is important.
Make sure your pupโ€™s collar tags and microchip info are up to date, just in case they get spooked and make a run for it.
