Holzer Senior Care Center has the best admin team around and with it being Administrative Professionals Day our staff members were surprised with gifts including a few of their favorite things as a small thanks for all the behind the scenes support they provide to our facility. The contributions these individuals give to HSCC are invaluable and help keep us running efficiently every day!

Holzer Senior Care Center residents have had a busy start to their spring season 🌷
OU Nursing Students visited once again and brought bingo prize donations, residents also enjoyed fun games with the students including noodle volleyball and hockey 🏐🏒
Our activity coordinator took residents on a virtual museum visit to celebrate National Art Day where they had the opportunity to see famous artwork by Monet and Raphael. Some of the paintings included The Beach at Sainte-Adresse, The Storm at Belle-Ile, and The Rocks at Port, Goulphar, Belle-Ile. 🎨🫟

HSCC had an inspiring week with Ohio University nursing students, who shared joy, smiles and laughter in every hall through engaging activities that included games, bingo, crafts, bracelet making, photo frame decorating and heartfelt interactions. Days like these leave a lasting impact on our residents and we are grateful these young people are so kind.

Holzer Senior Care has kicked off April with a burst of joy and inspiration! Our residents have been treated to a community outing to KFC, an uplifting trip to Bossard Library for the Traveling Bricks exhibit, and fun-filled afternoons of games including “Telephone” and “Heather Says” that have brought out the best in them. We've witnessed countless beaming smiles and heard contagious laughter that has filled our entire facility with an atmosphere of pure joy! Our staff enjoyed some Easter fun with an egg hunt for candy and prizes that brought out the kid in all of us. Malisa found the golden egg and won a loaded Easter basket filled with treats and goodies that will inspire her to continue spreading smiles!

Holzer Senior Care wrapped up the final days of March with a lively session of jazzercise and we had our very own science lab in celebration of National Science Appreciation Day where our residents learned all about chromatography, made some skittles art, created a homemade lava lamp and tested out a self inflating balloon theory that actually worked! 🎈🧪🧫
We also visited the social workers at Holzer Gallipolis and Jackson to present them with a small gift of appreciation in recognition of National Social Worker Month.

It’s been a week full of shenanigans here at HSCC 🍀
Staff and residents celebrated St Patrick’s Day with shamrock shakes and some fun attire, took a bus ride to Dairy Queen for free cone day, a trip to the Friendly Fifties luncheon, and finished the week with a packed house for bingo!

Holzer Senior Care Center observed National Frozen Foods Day with a selection of delicious snacks. Residents and staff enjoyed preparing and consuming pizza rolls, cheese sticks, and loaded baked potato skins. Everyone had full bellies and fond memories.

It has been a fantastic week at Holzer Senior Care Center. We have been visited by Ohio University nursing students, enjoyed various games including Hungry Hippos, and our residents have even participated in baking and made delicious cookies. Today, our staff celebrated Employee Appreciation Day with a grazing table featuring an assortment of sweet and salty snacks. We are truly fortunate to have an exceptional team.

February has been filled with enjoyable activities at HSCC. Our residents appreciated a visit from Everleigh Sheets, 1st Runner Up of the Queen of Hearts pageant, a lively Valentine's Day celebration with family and friends, Minute to Win It games, a table hockey competition, a lunch outing to Bob Evans, a visit to HALG for bingo, and our Hearts Across America project received cards from 30 states. Laughter and smiles were heard and seen throughout our facility all month long.
