Stallman, MD specializes in cosmetic eyelid and facial rejuvenation. He has extensive experience and is committed to providing the highest level of care and technology possible along with superior patient satisfaction. He strives to attain a natural, non-surgical looking improvement for his patients. Patients he works with in his Pismo Beach plastic surgery practice look refreshed, not "done." He is a board certified ophthalmologist who then completed a fellowship in oculofacial plastic surgery. With this unique training, he is keenly aware of the impact our eyes and face have on our outward appearance and is particularly sensitive to the delicateness of this area. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and is one of only a few hundred doctors in the United States who has qualified as fellow of the prestigious American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). It takes years of specialized training to safely perform procedures on the delicate tissues around the eyes and face. To master the specialty, Dr. Stallman began with an internal medicine internship followed by three years of eye surgery training after completing medical school. He then became board certified and completed extensive advanced oculofacial plastic surgery training, qualifying oral and written examinations and a scientific thesis. All this was required before being considered by his peers for fellowship in ASOPRS. Dr. Stallman is one of the few plastic surgeons of his kind in the Santa Maria – San Luis Obispo area. He enjoys serving cosmetic plastic surgery patients from Santa Barbara and Arroyo Grande to Atascadero and Paso Robles. From his office in Pismo Beach, Dr. Stallman welcomes men and women from Fresno and Bakersfield as well, many who design a vacation/plastic surgery getaway to the coast!

Upper eyelid Blepharoplasty is one of the most common procedures I perform. Its a minimally invasive procedure that can be performed in the office. Patients often comment that it is much easier than they had imagined.

Here's a nice example of improvements to the upper and lower lid achieved by hidden incision brow lifting combined with eyelid surgery. Lower lid surgery addressed both the under eye fat "bag" as well as the secondary fluid pouch (festoon).

Here's another example of results from lower eyelid blepharoplasty or "eye bag reduction". This is a procedure that is performed through a hidden approach on the inside of the eyelid, hiding any visible scaring. The fatty tissue which causes the cosmetic bulge and shadows is partially removed and partially redistributed. This results in a smoother lower lid and elimination of the dark shadows and "bag". This is one of the most common office outpatient procedures that I perform.

Sometimes patients come to see me with a specific request such as to fill the tear trough. They are often seeking something that becomes popular on social media. Here, I advised not to focus too much on the inner tear trough but to pay attention to the contours of the entire lower lid/cheek junction. Filler was carefully added to the depressions of those areas, creating a more youthful lid/cheek contour and softening the shadows.

This lady was treated with CO2 fractional laser resurfacing. This smoothed the surface texture and stimluated collagen. Following the laser, small amounts filler were added to her residual fine creases to yield this result 2 months after her initial treatment. This kind of result is why I particularly favor CO2 resurfacing for the right patient.
