🌟 Community Wellness Day was a huge success!

TCV proudly hosted its very first Community Wellness Day, bringing together neighbors, partners, and over 13 vendors for a day focused on health, wellness, and connection.

Organized by Nurse Jacquea Reid, the event offered:

✅ Free health screenings
✅ Hearing tests & CPR training
✅ Job opportunities & valuable resources
✅ Giveaways & education for healthier living

From blood pressure checks to mental health support, the day was filled with learning, engagement, and inspiration. The energy, smiles, and community spirit made it truly unforgettable.

TCV is proud to partner with Heritage Community Initiatives through the Courtesy Card Program!

This initiative provides free, unlimited rides for three months on Heritage Community Transportation (HCT) buses—helping remove transportation barriers for individuals and families in our community.

Why this matters:

• 78% of HCT riders do not have access to a vehicle
• 50% use HCT to get to work
• 61% connect to Pittsburgh Regional Transit through HCT

Paula G. McWilliams, president and CEO of Heritage Community Initiatives stated,
“We’re collaborating with these 15 fellow nonprofit organizations to help individuals contribute to our economy and actively engage in the community. For more than 25 years, HCT has provided access to public transportation for thousands of individuals each year. Our partnership with nonprofits, PennDOT, and Allegheny County help make this possible, and we are grateful for this collaboration.”

Heritage Community Initiatives is the only nonprofit in Pennsylvania dedicated to transportation, education, and nutrition and the only human service nonprofit designated as a provider of public transportation. Through this program, we join 14 other organizations in supporting access to reliable, affordable transit that empowers people to work, connect, and thrive.

TCV was honored to welcome Dr. Trisha Gadson and Kelleigh Boland of the Jefferson Regional Foundation to our Homestead campus to see firsthand the quality of care our staff provides each day. The tour included the classrooms of the Devereux TCV Day Academy and the STAIRS residential psychiatric program for children and teens which is slated to open in early 2026.

We appreciate the support that the Jefferson Regional Foundation has provided to TCV for many years and recognize the impact of their work on the community we serve.
