Here’s what it looked like:

Warm up (drills & lunges)
2mi easy run
6 alternating miles (continuous- no rest btw)
2mi easy run

“On” miles were supposed to be a little slower than marathon pace @ 7:40-7:55 min/ mile
“Off” miles were ~ 8:45-9:15 min/mile

These workouts in the middle of a long run can be a great way to build confidence with a faster pace. They are usually some of my favorite workouts to do!

You want to make progress? Stay in it for the long game.

Consistent effort over time in both training and rehab gets you places.

Know that when you decide to push your limits and go for a big goal, your risk for injury might go up. That’s okay. There is often inherent risk when pushing limits.

No matter what, you’ll never “prevent” injuries. If that was the case then professional athletes would never get hurt. You can train smart and reduce your risk though.

Keep pushing. Train hard. HAVE FUN.

Neck pain with benching?

If you have a high arch, it’s not uncommon. A lot of pressure is placed on the cervical spine in high arch bench pressers.

If the muscular support around the neck is better, it can help reduce the risk of pain and injury!

Start slow with the easier options and progress from there!
