A closer look inside today’s OR with Dr. Leong! 👃

This case features a cosmetic rhinoplasty focused on subtle, balanced refinement. Our patient was looking to soften the height of her nasal dorsum and narrow the width of her nasal tip. Using a preservation rhinoplasty approach, Dr. Leong carefully reduces the dorsum while maintaining natural structure, alongside refining the tip and gently lifting the columella. ✨

“Do you want your submandibular glands trimmed during a facelift?” 💭 It’s a great question, and not always a simple one!

As we age, these glands can become more prominent and affect the contour of the jawline and neck. In select cases, I may carefully trim a portion during a facelift to help create a smoother, more defined result, but it’s not always necessary.

In this video, I explain how aging affects the submandibular glands, when trimming may be appropriate, and the potential risks to consider before proceeding.

My goal is always to achieve natural, balanced results, with your safety as my top priority. Because at the end of the day, an informed patient is a confident patient, and that leads to better outcomes.

For this patient, I used Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) to carefully restore hair density while preserving a soft, natural hairline and balanced overall coverage. When I approach Asian Blepharoplasty, especially in East Asian patients, there are a few important nuances I always consider. Many patients have little to no natural upper eyelid crease, so part of the procedure may involve carefully creating a crease while performing an upper lid blepharoplasty.

But it’s not just about creating a crease; it’s about where and how high that crease is placed. The height is critical to maintaining a natural, balanced appearance that fits your unique anatomy and aesthetic goals.
